driving approx 8-10 km from the center of cortina on a small mountain road, after round 15-20min you will reach a charming small wooden house in the middle of a forest direct in front a small lake. We immediately fell in love with the location! We had great pasta as primi piati , great filetto de cervo, perfect nero d' avola red wine - and of course a perfect coffee macciato at the end... to our opinion all the guests have been italians, chic dressed, good looking, from under 30 - 60 years... - we came on a saturday evening, for others it would be at night..., but we came at 9:30, and by far, we have not been the last guests, as we left, it was about midnight... and many guest still enjoyed their main course, and not, because the kitchen has been that late... not at all, they arrived that late at the restaurant... at 22:30... - staff was super attentive, from welcome till good bye ... and best of all our story at the end: we left at midnight and due to heavy snow fall we missed the sign to the main road, took the wrong direction and come to a steep, narrow road leading to a lonely house, a road with dead end... we got stuck in the snow, no way of getting out of this place...we tried to reach the restaurant by our mobile phone, reached them and told them our situation, they told us in good english: no problem guys, someone of us will come to you & help you! dont worry! 20min later the chef - I supposed it was the owner, or one of the owners, arrived with his new range rover... he checked the situation and said, ok. I have to put the chains onto my tyres, because your car is too heavy and the conditions are very slippery... he mounted chains on his rear tyres, at meanwhile 0:30 !! no bad mood, totally relaxed, mounted a rope between the two cars and pulled us up the hill... after 10min we arrived savely, I said mille grazie several times and wanted to give him 30 EUR - he said, ohhh no!! we have been there guests in the restaurant, it is fine, and he would be happy if we come a next time!! never had such a nice and charming behavour experienced before!! mille grazie!!! & tanti saluti!!
