“Fine dining with ski boots”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

This restaurant is just a little bit of the ski slopes. It's a little old fashioned in a good way. Silver cutlery, nice plates, crystal glasses. The food was really amazing. Lobster, quail, fresh pasta.
It's funny to sit in such a place in your ski outfit and boots, wetting the wooden floor.
It's not the place to come to if you plan to ski a lot, we ended up sitting there most of the afternoon enjoying our meal. But if you like to combine skiing with good food: this is the place to come to.

“Our best experience in Cortina”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

The best restaurants in Cortina seem to be some way outside town. This is skiable during the day, but is transformed to a glamorous, cosy and stylish restaurant by night. Most restaurants in Cortina specialise in local cuisine, lots of meat and game, lots of cheese so the menus can look superficially very similar. However, il Meloncino has a lighter touch than most and the cooking is quite sophisticated. Service was extremely friendly and we enjoyed the ambiance greatly. The return taxi fare will add about 50 euros to the cost of your evening.

“Top Restaurant in beautiful setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2012 via mobile

We went with friends, theirs and our kids, for dinner to Il Meloncino. All of us, with no exception, really enjoyed our meals. The service from the waiters and the owner was outstanding. We spend a week in Cortina and visited various restaurants. This was by miles the best one. A visit is a must, if you are in Cortina.

“Hard to find but worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

Absolutely worth the trouble to get there. We intended to arrive at sunset because we had heard that the views from the top were outstanding, however we spent so much time trying to actually find the place that it was dark when we got there. When we finally arrived we were worried because there were hardly any cars in the parking lot and the place looked empty, typically not a good sign. But once we sat down and the food started coming we were ecstatic. The best meal I had in Italy, hands down. Definitely go, but be sure to get REALLY good directions first!!
