We came in to Civitavecchia a day early to catch a med. cruise. This hotel had a great location, transportation to the cruise terminal, good local restaurants near by. Room was clean, and front desk was very accomdating. Right across the street from the beach on the Mediterraen. Beutiful sunset!

Dear FloridaMyrtle

Thank you for your stay and for review. We are happy to know that you have enjoyed your stay in our Hotel and that you have tried our transfer company. We would like to remember to our guest that we have also shuttle service from the FCO Airport to the Hotel and from the Hotel to the cruise terminal (furthermore we have the permission to arrive underneath the ship with the utmost comfort for the guest).
We will suggest you on your next stay to try our restaurant, a must on the area.
Arrivederci

Our one night stay at this hotel was under very difficult circumstances: my partner was robbed on our train ride from the airport and, amongst many other things, his passport was taken. We arrived at the hotel quite traumatized. The night clerk, Benjamin, sent us to the nearby police station to report the crime. Unfortunately it was New Year Day and only one officer was on duty and he spoke no english. Returning to the hotel, Benjamin had already taken the initiative to contact our cruise line and found out they would not board us without both of our passports. He located the Canadian embassy in Rome and gave us instructions on how to get there. The next morning we headed back to Rome and worked things out. The hotel even held our luggage for us while we were in Rome. We were very impressed with Benjamin; he really went out of his way to help us. As for the hotel, I can't give it a thorough review as we weren't there that long, but we can echo other reviews about the small rooms and very firm beds. The bathroom was very nice (it even has a converter plug for North American appliances). The revolving doorway entrance and the stairs at the hotel entrance are a nuisance for anyone with a lot of luggage but it looks very grand. As far as we were concerned, the best thing about our stay was the staff, especially Benjamin, a helpful (and handsome!) young man.

Dear Fatbearbc,
Thank you for your review and for your stay at the Hotel San Giorgio. We are sorry that you where robbed on the train and that your holiday started in such a bad way. We are happy you have enjoyed the professional attitude of our staff, we are really proud about it and we work really hard in order to help all the guest and try to make their stay in Hotel special. Regarding your stay, usually the room are related to the European standard square and we would like to say that the tourning doors at the entrance is made in order to enter without luggage and then open the two big doors at the left and right of the Hotel in order to enter with all the comfort in the hotel. Furthermore we would like to remind to all the guest there is an elevator from the revolving door to the reception desk, in order to do not carry lugguages in the steps.
We hope to have the chance to welcome you again in your next stay in Civitavecchia. Arrivederci!!

We stayed here prior to departing on a cruise. The hotel and rooms are older but nicely kept up. We stayed New Year's eve and when we inquired before our arrival about restaurants by email the hotel told us the regular restaurant would be closed and offered a special New Year's eve package that included drinks, party snacks, party favors, and dinner. We are not much for late night partying, so we opted out. When we arrived we were told they would open the restaurant with full normal menu just for us. What other hotel would do that?
We strongly recommend this hotel. The staff is excellent, the location is convenient to the ship as well as the train station, shopping and eating.
Should we ever be in the area again, we will definitely stay at the Hotel San Giorio.

Room Tip: We chose the triple, two level room just because it was not that much more than a double and we were...

The hotel needs a renovation. It has great bones but the furnishings are worn and tired; I loved the marble floors. In terms of value, I was robbed. The check-out time is 10:30 when industry standards is noon; I paid an additional €50.00 to stay until 13:00. They also charged for wi-fi when most boutique hotels I've stayed provides free connection. At €3 per hour or €12 for 24 hours, I found it quite unreasonable. The staff, on the other hand, are very friendly and accommodating. They are the only pleasant thing about the hotel.

Dear RoberM, t
hank you for your review and for your stay. We are sorry that you did not enjoy our rooms, but we would like to point that our Hotel was open on 2007 and every years we do maintenance works on our rooms. Regarding the check out, by the fact the 90% of our guest are from America and Canada (and usually their flights arrive early in the morning), we decided to have the check out time at 10.30 in order to do not let the guest wait for too long for having the room ready. Regarding the wifi, it is included only in the special packages.
We are happy you have enjoyed the attitude of our staff, we are really proud about all our staff, a must of our Hotel.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again on your next stay in Civitavecchia.
Arrivederci

Excellent location in the port city of Civitavecchia. We stayed her for a night prior to our NCL cruise. There are plenty of restaurants and shops around to spend the day. The rooms were very clean with great big windows to take in some air and the view. Breakfast was a lovely assortment of hot and cold items. Good enough to feed the finicky eaters and/or vegetarians.

There is a shuttle that the hotel runs for 10 Euro a person to the pier when you catch a boat. However even better, if you walk down towards the fort at the end of the street, there is a "Free" shuttle that the ships run for its guests.

If you are flying into Rome or elsewhere, the hotel runs a shuttle to pick you up and take you to the hotel. We actually used Romecabs as it was less expensive and customizable to your time of arrival. The San Giorgio hotel's shuttle only runs a few times/day from Fiumicino airport.

Even pulling a very heavy bag, the walk from the train station took 10 min. Front desk, not too helpful, but adequate. Breakfast room was large, sunny and well staffed. Large assortment of baked goods. Room and especially bath could use a little up dating, but was clean. Very easy walk to some nice restaurants. Took cruise ship from this port less than 300 meters from hotel front door.

Room Tip: Use this hotel for pre cruise, and either walk to ship or take a $20.00 cab for up to 4 people.

My wife and I recently stayed one night of December 11, 2012. We had a great room with a great view of the sea. Our special surprise was the Ristorante Piccadilly, located in the hotel. With a fixed price menu we thought we would receive some good food. we were absolutely wrong. We had a fantastic dinner, with wonderful house wines, and some really yummy desserts. And the price was unbelievably inexpensive. It was a great value. And to the staff at the hotel and the restaurant --- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! ! ! The entire staff was so pleasant and most spoke Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, a little German, and I don't know which others. We left the hotel the next morning thinking about our next stay at the Hotel San Giorgio. A great value with a great location with a great staff.

Room Tip: Stay here ! !
