My husband and I contacted Giani (sounds :Johnny) and Alessandro directly. We purchased their room w/ free breakfst and their transportation from Rome Airport for a cruise we were taking. Right on Time, Giani was there to meet us. (I just dont know what we would have done w/out him in the hustle and bustle of Rome. Talk about a life saver) The transportation was much cheaper than our cruise ship transportation and their first rate service was excellent! The hotel itself seemed to be newly decorated in typical Italian/ Tuscan style. It was very nice . Giani welcomed us in with a nice complimentary cappuccino and it was EXCELLENT! :) I felt totally relaxed..something that would not have happened had we stayed in Rome! The rooms were very spacious and nicely decorated. They look just like their website photos. It reminded me of an upscale Laquinta . The price of the room was 85 euros and it was very clean. They all had this really nice stucco balcony , nice large european bathrooms (no tubs) and nice tile work. (you can get their suites for a little more, which are 2 rooms and really nice, but the single rooms are quite spacious and are sufficient if your going to be there for a short time). (The 2 rm suite does have a cooking area so you could do your own food if you wanted) The view was of the surrounding town and other balconies. We were able to walk around the town and it had a very safe feeling to it. In a few blocks you can get real pizza, a bottle of vino (wine), sharp Italian shoes and some of the best seafood around! The bed was comfortable (not overly soft but not too hard) and we had plenty of room. For a reasonable cost (2.00 per hr) you can wifi..and we did ! The next morning, true to his word, the staff took us and several other couples to the exact port area we needed to be.After all was said and done (we also booked one more room on the return and the return shuttle) we decided staying here was probably best decision we made on the whole trip..When we left , we were thankful of their consideration and catering to their American customers. The people at this hotel are good to Americans . We met several repeat visitors there and everyone seems to have the same affection for this family run hotel that we did..Allessandro and Giani will be seeing us again! These guys made us feel like family , these guys and the whole staff are fabulous!

Stayed at this hotel for a night at the end of a cruise. The rooms are spotless and attractive, with a vast selection of multi-language satellite TV channels. The hotel appears to be family run and this shows in the quality of the service. E.g. on arrival the receptionist was happy to lend me the full taxi fare since I was short of small denomination bank notes; the bar staff would fill my toddler's bottle with fresh milk and warm it up whenever requested. All the staff appears to be happy and motivated and this made our night's stay an excellent end to our holiday. Location is 15 minutes' walk from the seafront, which is Civitavecchia's centre. The beds being super hard is my only complaint about this otherwise perfect hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights before a cruise leaving from Civitavecchia. We arranged a transfer from the airport through the hotel, and one of the owners was there to meet us as we exited baggage claim. He spoke excellent English. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Our room was actually a two-room suite with sink, rangetop, small refrigerator, cooking and eating utensils, and even a clothes washer. Everything is exactly as pictured on the web site. The kitchen/living area had a sofa bed and a TV with lots of channels in English. The bedroom had a large bed, a small bed, a desk, plenty of storage, and a TV. We could not find English channels on this TV, however. The bath consisted of a toilet, bidet, shower, sink, and heater/heated towel bar. There were always fresh towels and plenty of hot water, and any dishes we used were washed daily. Breakfast was buffet style, with lots of fruit, breads, cereals, juices, yogurt, sliced ham, cheese, etc. Coffee was made to order, Italian (strong!) or American style. The location is within walking distance of the train station (an uphill walk back) and many small shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. You just have to look around to find them, as the streets are narrow and difficult to see down. We had pizza at at little take-out place called something like Pizza University. The people there were very friendly and helpful, although they didn't speak English. Pizza is easy to order anywhere, however. We took the train to Rome one day: the hotel recommended a day ticket for both the trains and the subway, which worked beautifully. There is a museum in Civitavecchia, but we didn't take the time to go there. We spent our time walking through shops, parks, and the jetty area on the waterfront. The hotel delivered us right to the ship on cruise day with no additional charge. We loved this hotel and would go back there in a minute!

We Booked this hotel after reading a review on tripadvisor, for a nights stay before taking a cruise, we are so glad we did. We made use of the transfer 100 euro from Ciampino but as they were also collecting another couple we only paid 50 euros, so quite a bargain. The Hotel was lovely, the staff are all very friendly and our room was large and clean. They gave us a map and marked some recomendations on it for dinner which was great.
We found the hotel very comfortable and enjoyed a good nights sleep, the breakfast was also good. We asked about arranging a Taxi to the port, but were told as soon as they had completed an airport collection they would take us for no charge. We also found it hard to get them to accept a tip, but insisted as the service of all the saff was excellent.

The Hotel Traiano is the perfect place for your stay in Civitavecchia. We spent one night there before embarking on a cruise. The reservation process was painless, considerably aided by Alessandro's excellent English. Alessandro himself met us at FCO airport in Rome and the price for the transfer (80 Euro) was far less than the other options we had explored. The hotel itself has large rooms and bathrooms, is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Being in a quiet part of town, we were able to sleep well and recovered easily from the long flight from Canada. Breakfast was typical continental fare and totally adequate. To complete our good experience, Alessandro drove us to our ship in the hotel bus and would accept neither payment nor tip for his efforts! We actually insisted on the latter, as a token of our appreciation of a job well done.

We found Hotel Traiano by accident and we really lucked out.

We wanted to say in the port town before our cruise and basically wanted a simple clean place to put our heads down after the long flight over to FCO. We booked it on (----) and got a great price for 2 rooms - one double and one triple.

Right after the booking I received an email from Gianni Trotta, the owner/manager (I think this is a family run business) asking if we wanted him to pick us up at the airport for 80 euro for up to 8 people. This was a great price so we jumped on it, and he was right there waiting for us.

The hotel was charming and our triple room ended up being like a 2 room studio apt. with a kitchenette including washer and dryer. The bath was sparkling clean and very modern. We also had a balcony. The price of the room included breakfast which was standard european fare which we all love. They were all so kind and even drove us to the port.

The only negative thing I can say is not too many restaurants near by. We did walk into town center and picked up some pizza and wine and brought it back to the room. This turned out to be a plus too as the pizza was the best!!!

I highly recommend this hotel and we will use it again for sure.
