I stayed here with my group of 20 people. We were on a Globus tour and they chose the hotel. The location was great. Lots of restaurants and some shopping nearby. Very close to the Bus Terminal and Cafes. Very clean, nice breakfast room, wonderful Rooftop Terrace/Bar with a restaurant and great views. I would easily recommend this property or stay here again. Rooms vary depending on what type of room you book. I was in a single room. But it was comfortable and I felt safe. Others in my group had very nice rooms with large bathtubs. Staff had good recommendations for dining. We all enjoyed our stay for 2 nights.

Booked a room with a sea view...and it was...a large room with huge balcony. So large, it was like a patio!
Room had a minibar fridge, which was empty other than water. Great for us to cool our own drinks. The room had a 'walk-in' wardrobe.
Buffet breakfast was good too. It was also quiet there!
On my room booking it said the wifi had a charge, but I found it was free. All the nearby cafes also have free wifi.
Near to the station and port gates!

Room Tip: Book a room with a sea view!

Great location, great view, large room and close to our ship port. Close to nice restaurants and shops. Hotel clerk was very helpful with wifi. Definitely recommend. As a stopover before cruise excellent value.

This hotel offers a perfect location as a stop-over before or after a cruise. It's next to the railway station and a short 5 minute walk to the entrance to the port where there is a free shuttle to the ships.
The room was spacious, quiet and had a walkout terrace overlooking the bay. The bathroom was clean, modern and could not be faulted.
The included buffet breakfast was much better than we expected-hot,cold,cereals, fruit, pastries, coffee, juice or tea.
The front desk was very helpful during the day when the clerk spoke English. The evening clerk did not speak English.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, will definitely return, and consider it to be an excellent value.

Although this hotel is located between the train station and cruise port, right across from the ocean, and numerous restaurants abound, I cannot recommend this establishment. No security, sliding glass window has no lock. Room smelt musty and smokey. Mold, mildew and heavy calcium deposits in bathroom and shower with an occasional bug running around at night Room decor seems fairly up to date but bed had serious depressions in them (mattress should be flipped monthly) bed felt like it was over 20 years old. Very dusty around furniture. Breakfast very inadequate and items not replenished, no one around to ask for refilling. Staff seems nice except for the grouchy old man when we checked out.

I very nearly cancelled our booking at Hotel Mediterraneo after seeing reviews of the place being in a shabby state. How relieved I am that I did not cancel. The place was clean and tidy – our room and bathroom were spotless. The convenience of the hotel in its close proximity to both the station and the cruise port saved us the cost of taxis: we walked the short distance in the evening from the station and in the morning we able to stroll the equally short way to the port. Absolutely perfect!
Some travellers might be interested to know that, if you don’t have too much luggage, the local train from Rome to Civitavecchia is only 5 euros and takes about an hour … we heard of some awful prices having be paid by fellow cruisers … in excess of 100 euros!!

Room Tip: Our only disappointment was we had booked: Standard Double Room with Sea View ... but by the time we...

We had booked 2 nights , but stayed an additional 2 because my passport was stolen at Termini station and we were unable to go on our cruise. The staff were helpful, moved us to another room for the next 2 nights. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the balcony, and then a patio looked out over the sea. Close to several dining options and some shopping. The buffet breakfast was good and included in the room fare. We had a good stay despite our circumstances.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view rooms
