This hotel is situated a just a few minutes walk from the train station and as we were there only for one night due to joining a cruise the next day, it suited us very well. On arriving we was greeted by the Receptionist who served us well. We enquired about food (it was around 9pm) and was informed that the dining room was busy so was given the name of a local place to eat. Our room was spacious and clean with a very high ceiling, The bathroom is adequate with a stand alone shower. When we went down to breakfast the next morning, there was not a lot to offer - I know we were towards the latter end of the time schedule for breakfast, but there were no clean plates available nor anything cooked and no plain yogurt! However, after waiting a few minutes a lady appeared and I was able to get a clean plate. Also, after about 5 minutes or so there was fresh hot food. Too late for me but not to worry, I had boiled eggs instead. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and we would stay there again.

We stayed here last night after being sent from the hotel San Giorgio where we had a booking. There was no water to several rooms so we had to be moved- this was the excuse they gave anyway. This hotel is past its sell by date!!!! We were offered a room which stank of cigarette smoke so saw two more- which were worse so ended up having to stay here anyway- local hotels were full. There was no-one to help with luggage either. The breakfast was almost non-existent as we were late down- but well within the allocated time. Not only was there hardly any food, there were no cups or plates either. Coffee was cold, no bread left etc- I could go on. Please avoid this hotel- or be disappointed

Booked one room for one night.
Check in without problems, reception looks like a 1980 flashback.
Actually the whole thing looks like 1980...i was not very surprised to find the room in poor condition, furniture out of classic movies, water stains on the ceiling, traces of smoke on the wood ceiling, cracked and dirty walls and ,yes, some butterflies painted on the cracked wall, next to the bed area. Wooden plinth around the room was falling apart, some "expert" tried to glue it but without great success.
AC was fine, doing the job well.
Bathroom was also in poor condition, cracked tiles, dirty shower curtain, stained tap, corroded door handle and a "nice"-dirty- note warning you that towels are micro-chipped (!), so please don`t steal them, we well trace you!
I strongly believe that management should consider refurbishment a priority, instead of investing in micro-chips for towels.

If you`re unlucky and you have a room with back view, you can see (and hear) the railroad behind the hotel.

I left early morning, fast check out.
Funny, even the room key holder broke in pieces -it was obviously glued several times.

I swear i will never step in that place again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel De La Ville the night before leaving for a cruise out of the port of Civitavecchia (Port for Rome). The hotel is close enough that we were able to walk to the port shuttle (at the gate of the port) to be driven to our ship). Do not pay for a cab to take you there. The boardwalk area in front of the hotel allows easy access walking to the port entrance. My husband is disabled (walking is an issue); he was able to navigate this easily. Besides the port being so close, there are restaurants readily available for lunch and supper. Walk around the quaint town keeping the water in view. The hotel faces the waterfront (beautiful view). The hotel rooms were large; the beds comfortable; the bathrooms okay. The view from the windows was spectacular. The breakfast (included with our reservation) was set up as a buffet and offered choices of juices, fruits and yogurts, wonderful pastries and breads, cereals, boiled or poached eggs, and bacon. The coffee was plentiful. We enjoyed the breakfast area having the opportunity to visit with other passengers about to board the Celebrity Constellation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the waterfront. We were on the second floor in a corner room racing the waterfront....perfect!

We arrived by hire car rom Rome at night so chose this hotel and location since it was on our way north and not too far a drive at nightime. A very good choice since we were very happy with the location and level of service and amenities. Excellent for a short stay, reasonably basic, very clean and not too small rooms. They have a car park at the back via a VERY narrow entrance. I had a medium sized car and, although I am a highly competent driver it took all my skill to swing round square to get through the entrance with the wing mirrors turned in and centimetres to spare on either side.
