A great hotel with friendly staff, as well as excellent food and rooms. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely love to come back again.

Room Tip: This is not close to the Chiusi train station and they do not provide a shuttle

We have just returned from our trip to Italy.
Il Patriarca was definitely one of the highlights,
All the staff was excellent, including reception staff, waiters, and cleaning staff.
The hotel is very clean, in an absolutely beautiful setting with infinity pool overlooking the Tuscan valley.
Excellent food at the "taverna", loved the pici pasta and the tiramisu.
Close to shopping and the highway.
Our daughters, 13 and 16 years old loved it, (as a bonus its 15 mins away from an outlet mall.)
We loved it because it was just far enough away from the city to be relaxing and peaceful.
We hope to return soon!
Thank you Il Patriarca for our dream vacation in Tuscany!

This hotel had great rooms, grounds and an amazing pool! The food was good, nice breakfast l, although it wasn't always re-stocked right away. It was easy to get to, right off the highway. Go to the catacombs in Chuisi - they made the whole trip worth it!

My stay in this hotel in 2010 was idyllic! It is a hotel which is situated in the heart of toscane with a fabulous view on the trees and countryside! It was quiet, peaceful and the swimming pool is lovely! The food in the trattoria was superb, the tiramisu heavenly and the atmosphere cosy!

Booked this hotel as a 50th birthday present for my husband. Reserved a 3 night break in the Junior Suite. Arrived late due to lost luggage and then a last minute cancellation of the Ferrari 308 car booked as the surprise! (by an independent company)You can imagine how devasted we were. However despite the disasterous start to a special holiday - due to the excellence of the staff in particular Lina and Marco , we had a fantastic time. The hotel was fabulous, the attention to detail and the food in both restaurants excellent. The bed was turned down each night and fresh towels provided. Food in the Michelin restaurant exquisite, Marco - a fabulous man! Early evening drinks with canapes outside on the lawns. Will definitely return in the future, wonderful place, great location, great value for the service you get - highly recommended!

Room Tip: All rooms were good, hotel fully booked - this shows its reputation!

This place is amazing, beautiful surroundings which make you feel like in another world. My stay was perfect, the room was pretty, awesome snack food, champagne and roses waiting in the room, then outside in a beautiful garden were again champagne, wines and food. Bubbles made their job. I will never forget the dinner though. The Dinner was the best part, it's expensive but worth it. The service is perfect, the food? OMG! Food was prepared in a perfect way, I felt like a princess, no jokes! I wish I could have a chance to come back there. Tuscany is magic, Viva Italia! :)

We stayed here off season in January and the price could not be beat! The hotel looks like a villa from the outside, but inside it's very elegant and tastefully decorated. Our room had gorgeous 1700's type decor with spacious closet (including safe), large desk, wi-fi, flat screen TV, small fridge. The bathroom was very elegant too all done in beige marble, also a tub. Breakfast buffet or served room service, and boy, they feed you like a king! None of that continental stuff, but a variety of assortment to your heart's desire. And the view from the window was absolutely spectacular! The restaurant was great too, we ate there every night, and enjoyed it every time.

Heard it was also Fellini's favorite hotel, and he and his wife were frequent guests. If you stay here, you'll see why!! Oh...and may I add, the area nearby is Tuscany at its best!

Patriarca is located just outside of Chiusi, so you do need a car to get here, and you especially would like a car to drive into the nearby towns like Chiusi, Montepulciano, Pienza, the thermal baths in Chianciano, and just take a drive through the Tuscan countryside. It's like a fairy take!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
... more   less
