“A unique and relaxing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

This spa was recommended by an Italian friend... I have been to several terme (hot springs) in Italy and in the US and I have never seen anything like this place.

A reservation is necessary and we made one a few days in advance for a weekday visit. The cost was about 39 euros each. Hours are from 10 AM - 10 PM and the admission fee is good for 3.5 hours only. It is recommended to bring thongs/sandals (otherwise there is a small additional fee). Bathing suits are mandatory. A bag with a robe, towel, and shampoo/lotion are provided. After entering, a spa attendant met with us and explained the different programs (relaxing, energizing, etc.) and showed us where to hang our robes and get started. We chose not to follow a particular course and tried out most of the 20 sensory experiences... Highlights for us were the mud area (walk down the stairs to find a few of the sensory experiences including the mud room) and the jacuzzi baths - especially the outside pool. Would definitely recommend this place and recommend making a reservation in advance (especially on the weekends or high season). We went during the week in February 2013 and it was not crowded.

“Waste of time and money”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012

In typical Italian fashion it is all hype and no substance along with a $50 entrance fee. The water was tepid and not from natural springs. There was no explanation of what to expect or what to do.
The rooms smelled like a moldy locker room.

The rooms were filled with young people rubbing their private parts against each other while wearing skimpy bathing suits and speedos.

The Italians believe that drinking the magic elixir water will cure medical problems with their livers and spleens. Seems like they are also using blood letting and leaches.

I believe that it was places like this that caused the fall of the Roman Empire.

“Not what I expected!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

Drove half the day and booked a hotel to go to the spa the next day. The web site indicates you cannot book in advance with the exception of the first hour of the day at ten am, went to the spa at eleven and was told they were full until the following evening. Staff were extremely rude and did not speak much English even though they are clearly marketing to tourists. While the spa looks like it could provide a very interesting and relaxing experience, all appearances of the guests indicate that this is more of a place for folks who are seeking pain relief and rehabilitation as opposed to relaxation. Very disappointed especially due to the travel for nothing,

“Wonderful experience”

This was highlight of our trip. The baths are clean and very relaxing or energizing depending on which program you are taking. It is a four hour experience. Don't miss it.
