“Three night stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for three nights, fantastic size room no view though but very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and the food was good. There is a short walk to the main square which had live music and dancing when we were there it is slightly hilly but not too much of a problem. All in all Avery comfortable stay would recommend.

Just got back from Hotel and the location is in the centre of Tuscany about 30 miles south of Siena. The Hotel is a clean hotel which is kept clean by some good staff who all speak English. The rooms are ok with good bathrooms and AC but single rooms are a tad small and they do not have any decorations, pictures or flower so pretty bland. Also mixed sleep quality good to nod off at night but you tend to wake up early by car engine or dog barking. There are no balcony in the hotel and the view's are not so great at the side or the back. The lifts were a bit temperamental and tiny so not much leg room for more than 2 people and luggage.

Good Points: The pool is good and not deep (No life guard) and free Wi-fi, nice reception and good sun terrace at the top.

Fair Points: There is no entertainment at the hotel and we tended to go down to the Bar at the Italian Square just down the road. Well worth is a visit is to the centre of Chianciano Terme by Bus or walk there sticking to the high road (or road from the hotel) as the walk down to the Square is steep on the way back up. Breakfast is ok with cerial, fruit and continental items.

Bad Points.. The walk back from the Square, on the down side the food was only fair and not a patch on the Italian food I've had at Hotels in Lake Garda or Como. Do not eat the Salads as you likely to get stomach problems next few days and Salads seem to be washed with the local water. Unfortunately on few nights at Hotel we went for decent meal down at local bar. Another bad point is that for every drink you need to sign for it and keep the receipts until you paid at the end of the week (Surely there is a better way to record and pay for extras?). Also every dinner meal took 2 - 3 hours to get through and there is a limited choice.

Room Tip: Choose a room over looking the front.

Stayed here for a week last October. The hotel was lovely. Rooms are spacious, well maintained and clean. Staff where friendly and we felt well looked after. We asked for a top floor apartment for the views and this was granted. The view was stunning. The only downfall was the food. To be honest it was awful and always seemed to be of a green texture. The whole process from start to end took about 2hrs so be prepared to wait if restaurant is busy. However over the road from hotel is a fabulous bistro called Rivoli Bar. What a god send, wonderful staff, lovely food and reasonably cheap. Don't know what we would have done without this place. Overall really enjoyed this holiday and would recommend the hotel. Tuscany is a beautiful place to visit or stay.

Room Tip: Top floor for the views. There is a lift for ease.

Unlike what everyone else has said the walk down to the town isn't far at all, only down the bottom of a short hill (about 4 minutes away) town is good if you want to explore further than the main square otherwise it looks like there isn't a lot there. I would recommend 'le fonti' restuarant as the food is delicious!
The hotel is good, very clean rooms, good food which is served in 5 courses and lovely pool. Female receptionist is lovely but the male (possibly the owner?) is quite rude and dismissive and doesn't speak English. We forgot our adapter and he wasn't helpful at all in helping us whereas the lady was more than happy to help. You can't change money over at the hotel, however there is a bank in the town but they are only open in the morning and afternoon due to siestas. So change all your money before you go.
We had a great pool facing room and the views from the roof were beautiful but there is hardly anyone up there so nice if you want somewhere quiet to sit and read.
I would come here again but may take a translation book with me next time.

Stayed here overnight as part of a coach trip. Very impressed with the bedroom. Bathroom was very spacious. Shutters up the window for privacy but easy to work. Food was ok. Didn't have time to use the swimming pool but it looked nice.

This is only judged by an overnight stay as part of a coach group, but the service we were shown was just as good as it would have been if we had gone as a couple, the food in the evening was good, and breakfasts were as you would expect from a continental breakfast. The rooms were clean and tidy, and as an overnight stop quite acceptable.

Just back from here and it was a lovely pretty clean hotel. The rooms were nice with good air conditioning and a lovely receptionist.
The lifts were a bit temperamental ! but worked.
The first room they showed us to was not great, no view no balcony. So we asked the lovely receptionist if we could change and she said no problem and showed us to another room.
well what a difference.
this room was great, twice the size, literally, with a splendid balcony and because we were high a lovely view over the pool and the countryside.
in the evening the music drifted up from the square and it was very restful to sit on the balcony with a drink and listen to all the fun.
on the down side the food was terrible. In fact the worst of anywhere we have stayed ever. And that's saying something. every meal took 2 1/2 hours and the maître 'D was so rude he shouted at me. in the end things were so bad we walked into town (2 minutes) and had a wonderful meal in town.
Fab little hotel but only book bed and breakfast, as the breakfast was ok.

Room Tip: at the top at the back with a view of the pool and countryside.
