continuing on leger jewels of italy by air our next hotel was much better we spent 3 nights here evening meal was served to you at the table soup followed by a pasta dish then there was a salad bar self service set up very good lots of choice and we were not rushed as other reviewers had been then main course choice of two again served at your table a good meal each night breakfast was self service and there was plenty to choose from enhanced continetal we would stay here again no problem swimming pool was ok but acsess was an issue the lift was supposed to go down to it but it was not allowing acssess we were shown out of front steps down then around corner to a steep tarmac slope to pool you had to do this in reverse for toilets drinks e.c.t not very good the pool was on same leavel as resterant which the lift allowed you down to at meal times so not a good system surly they could lock resterant and still allow acsses to pool from room we had no balcony in this hotel but there was a roof terrace on our leavel all in all a good 3 night stay tip the hotel is up a very steep hill the town is a long way from it

After a long day traveling back, from Rome, How pleased were we to check in to this very nice hotel?
The rooms are of a good size and the bathroom is to match.

An evening meal was included in our deal, coach tour, and the food was excellent, plentiful and kept coming. Don't be fooled by the first course this is only the anti-pasta or starter.

Nice bar and somewhere to walk off the large meal.

If only all of our, overnight hotels, were as good as this one.

Overall a score of 8 out of 10. (Nobody gets 10 -10)

Room Tip: Did not have a choice but! was happy with what we were given. As were most of the other people on ou...

Just returned from a Shearings holiday at this hotel.
Have to say that the hotel was clean and the staff very friendly.
The food was good and although there was fruit for dessert on 3 eveings it really didn't bother my husband or myself.
The trips were excellent and the optional excursions were value for money. We chose to include the walking tours of Rome and Florence and were pleased we did as the guides were very informative.
The journey was a long one but Sean and Mark (ish) made it as comfortable and interesting as possible. Everyone on the coach were friendly and this made the holiday memorable.

we stayed here as part of a coach tour with shearings, nice hotel in a nice location, the room was very clean with a lovely big bathroom, nice reception area with free wifi just in that area.
reception and bar staff friendly.dining area was fine, breakfast was good with cereals, fruit, ham, cheese, bread rolls, cake.Dinner also ok,took a bit long inbetween courses but food was fine i really liked the soup and pasta dishes, main meal was good most nights.didnt like the fruit for pudding which we had for three of the nights,an apple and orange not my idea of a pudding! chianciano is a really nice place, lovely views and walks, near to the old town where there is a market on wednesday mornings also a co op is here.coach travel was fine, and we visited some lovely places in italy.overall we had a great holiday.

Very clean rooms and communal areas. Cleaners smiley and polite and evening restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. The food is fine - lots of courses ensured that there was something for everyone each evening. It is a canteen style dinning room but as they are catering for coach parties eating all at the same time I think this is acceptable and well organised. Take a proper hairdryer if you have to style your hair as the ones provided are only useful for drying off short hair. Also a travel kettle, adaptor plug, cup and teabags are essential items to pack as there are no facilities in the rooms.
We travelled with Shearings - the journey there is FAR LONGER than you can possibly imagine. It is seriously quicker to travel to Australia! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TRIP FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY OR CIRCULATION PROBLEMS. You spend MANY hours on the coach across the trip ( at least 87 hours if you live in Northern England) and several passengers had very swollen legs and joint pain and most places visited have very steep hills, including Chianciano itself. There is a toilet on board the coach and regular comfort stops. The only place we visited with no public toilets was Sant Antimo.

Room Tip: The single supplement does not give you a double room or a balcony. You can pay this and still be in...

Stayed at this hotel as part of a shearings holiday. the hotel was clean and tidy, unfortunatley the dining room was like a school canteen and the food was even worse! do not stay here if you are expecting a nice italian dining experience, powered soup and powered mash!. my other complaint being the location of the hotel at the top of a very steep hill and no mention of this in the brochure. people should be forworned this is no good for the elderly or people with walking difficulties definatley would not stay here again!.

Stayed here with Shearings The hotel was well maintained with comfy lounges & spotlessly clean corridors. The swimming pool & sun lounges, at the rear of hotel, were also lovely.

The only failure with the hotel was with regard to the dining arrangements :- Upon entry the large atmospheric dining room was disappointing. Breakfasts were good & plentiful apart from absolutely tasteless fruit juice and tea making facilities that were limited meaning we rarely obtained a lovely hot cup of tea. The main dining disaster was with the evening meal. There were 5 courses and the first 2 courses soup & pasta were always good. The buffet salad was plentiful but we were let down by the main meal and deserts. For example one night the main course was 'beef stew' which upon being served we found consisted of 2 'lumps' of beef with one portion of green beans and a minute spoonful of gravy, the majority of the large plate being completely empty.
The deserts were uninspiring, whole fresh fruit a couple of nights and blancmange type deserts on a couple of nights.

Room Tip: Try & get rooms at front of hotel, rooms at back facing directly onto back rooms of another hote...
