The service standards and the welcome was excellent, the room was on the third floor with both lift and stair access...they have a fabulous spa and health retreat within the hotel which is recommended. Tours of local distrcits can be arranged through the front desk, however the local bus services can get you around this part of Tuscany. The old town of Chianciano is also well worth a visit. Recommended hotel, the three star rating fits the standard and pricing very well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony for fresh air and a view over the Tuscan country side.

Stayed here in October 2013 with Travelsphere. A large, spacious hotel above average for three star. The lounges and outdoor areas are thoughtfully designed and well laid-out. Our room was a good size (with a shower but no bath) and a balcony we could sit out on with beautiful views across the valley to the surrounding hills. The only problem was the very noisy plumbing - the sound of filling toilet cisterns and wash basins in adjacent rooms was very disturbing, especially early in the morning.

The staff were exemplary - answering all our queries and helping in any way they could. Bereakfasts were lavish and full of choice. Evening meals - the staff coped very well with the large number of guests, but the meals themselves were of variable quality.

One of the best things about the hotel was the spa - a wonderfully relaxing way to ease the weariness and aches of a long day out exploring the Tuscany hill towns. It cost just ten Euros each for a week's unlimited use. Extraordinary value.

Stayed via travelsphere. The hotel owners are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is very plentiful and perfectly good ( but for a regional treat go to a local osteria). Rooms are above average for an Italian 3 star, all have air con. The only downside is that the town is 2 hours or more from Pisa, Florence etc which can make for some long and tiring days. But as for the hotel itself I don't have anything but praise for it

I stayed here at the end of June 2013 with Travelsphere. The hotel is a friendly family run hotel in a small town on the south east side of Tuscany. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are a decent size for this type of European hotel. My room had a small balcony overlooking the Tuscan hillside which was lovely. The bathroom was exceptionally clean with toilet, bidet, washbasin and shower cubicle- the water was exceedingly hot which was quite unusual in my experience of Mediterranean hotels! I am normally an independent traveller, so a package holiday of this type was a first for me, with planned meal times in the hotel, but it was very good and my vegetarian requirements were always well accommodated for. The hotel location is a short walk from the 'old town' which is quite pretty with a couple of nice places to eat, with stunning views over the valley. The hotel is also well placed for getting public buses to other towns such as Montepulciano, although it is a good 1hr+ for getting to the main Tuscan sites such as Florence and Sienna. The wellness centre in the hotel was also very good with a nice indoor hydrotherapy pool and spa services. All round it was a very enjoyable stay in a lovely part of Italy which I have already recommended to other friends!

A stay in Hotel Ricci with Travelsphere was enjoyable. All the staff were friendly and the chef was great at looking after my dietary needs while also cooking dishes for everyone else.
The area the hotel is in is very quiet. The old town and new town are a lovely short walk away.
After being out all day we did make use of the spa. It was nice to unwind after a full day walking.
I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area.

I stayed in Chianciano Terme for two nights during which I went cycling around the Val di Chiana region. The hotel felt like home thanks to the mother and daughter team who own it and manage it and Laura, the ever helpful receptionist who speaks fluent English.
My room was spacious, the air conditioning was perfect without being noisy and the pillows very comfortable.
The breakfast spread was good and even though the hotel accommodates tour groups it didn't feel like a mall like other hotels that do sometimes tend to feel.
And, the staff knows the region like the back of their hand and all their suggestions regarding restaurants and places to visit were spot on.

We enjoyed almost everything about our holiday, the trips (Although very expensive) the hotel staff were the best we have ever experienced, the coach driver took care and drove to a high standard of safety and skill, the Travelsphere representative was First class. The well being centre was Superb!

The food however was very poor!
Reconstituted and recycled.
We understand that we get what we pay for but really, the same old appalling tired starter in the evening, that poor miserable salad. We had fish once that was not cooked through properly. It was uneatable. On the Friday the Roast lamb was a disgrace. You wouldn't feed it to a dog.
Over salted soups & pastas and other dishes, far too salty making them uneatable. Which in turn meant we had to eat additional meals out because we were still hungry and sometimes went to bed hungry.
An out of order coffee machine all week, so stupid and unnecessary queuing occurred all week at breakfast, and that disgusting over-sweetened condensed so-called fruit juice.
A real joke.
Travelsphere promote a cuisine experience in Italy. It was not.

The food was very bad for the 1st 3-4 days, and everyone on our table complained (to each other), and then it seemed to gradually get better during the last 4 days, to the point that the last 2 days were very good, and everyone seemed to forget their bravado of how they were going to complain when they got home. It was uncanny. Someone suggested that it was a deliberate ploy. That's maybe taking things too far, but it was strange.

Drop the 5 and on 1 occasion 6 courses! Have a good starter, and main course, oh and get some vegetables with the meat course, and a nice sweet. That would have been far more impressive not to mention satisfying.

Hotel staff the best! Go room only, and eat out!
