Just returned from a lovely week holiday, great location, spectacular views.
Excellent and plenty of food.
Clean and quiet hotel, very relaxing.
We made good use of the "Well Being Centre"
Would recommend to family and friends.

Room Tip: Would advise a room with a balcony, most have.

Stayed at Hotel Ricci for 7 nights in Oct 2012 on Travelsphere Holiday. This hotel is a excellent family run hotel + nothing is too much trouble for guests. You can use "Well Being Centre" for 10 euros/ for your stay at hotel = Great don't forget your swimsuit. So relaxing after days out.
We were on half board the breakfast was buffet style + pm menu was 4 courses and excellent value. Not like any "school dinners" I have had. All the restaurant staff worked hard + nothing was too much trouble - thanks especially to Julio. Excellent bar prices for evening drinks. Not alot to do in Chianciano Terme in evening only few shops. Thank you Sandra + family.

having read the other reviews i feel compelled to say how wonderful our trip was. The hotel was lovely and the staff so accommodating i couldn't fault them. We found the rooms very comfortable, wonderful views from the terrace and the spa was a welcome treat after sitting in a stuffy coach for hours on end.
the food was delightful and again the staff very willing to alter menus as and when needed.

Tuscany is a beautiful place and i would definitely recommend this hotel for friends and come back myself, the only thing i would do differently would be to organize my own excursions, whilst the rep was very knowledgeable it was a lot of travelling and at ti,es i found the onslaught of facts and information a bit too lengthy.

Room Tip: Terrace was fab

Like a number of previous reviews, my wife and I stayed here with a Travelsphere group. I will not repeat everything that has been said already, apart from saying that we did enjoy our stay at this hotel.
It was very clean, the staff were helpful and accomodating at all times. The food was plentiful and what we expected for the price etc. The spar pool was nice and a must for only 10 Euros for the week, being a guest. We did not partake in any day trips to the Tuscan city's as we have already visited them on other holidays, but would like to say that we thought that a two hour+ journey each way, each day is rather a long time to spend on coaching and was rather expensive for almost the same route each time. Now a couple of notes for the walking impared .... This region is very hilly and the villages etc. have many cobbled streets which will make walking around difficult. I wouldn't advise wheelchair use either as the carer will struggle. The hotel also has a number of steps up to the entrance from the car park and also steps down into the restaurant. Finally, we would of liked to of seen hand cleansing gell at the entrance to the restaurant, being that the salads were self service with everyone handling spoons and tongs. All in all, we had a good holiday.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a balcony with view.

Spent a week at this hotel as a part of package holiday. The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly, helpful and they had wifi throughout the hotel so we could have good old radio 4 to listen to in our room. Loads of channels on the TV, but only CNN was English speaking.

Now the beds. Everyone in the group thought that the beds were hard, lumpy and bumpy, the pillows were flat and firm. It didn't help trying two of them, just as hard and flat but twice as high.

The food. Ah, the food! Italy, great food eh? It was rubbish. After a coach trip out mid week I overheard one in the group say, "nice day out today, now back to the hotel and 'school dinners'". They couldn't have had a chef, only a cook could produce such boring, repetitive and sometimes processed mass produce food, Grey compressed meats were served on more than one occasion, No olives, same salad selection every day poorly prepared, the soup looked like yesterday's leftovers with something new thrown in to it so that it could be called something different from the previous day's offering. The taste was ...... poor. Tinned Heinz Italian & basel soup is a hundred fold better than anything served up by this hotel. (The waiter on our table after serving out the mushroom soup looked at the menu at the end of the table and raised his eye brows and as well he might, there wasn't a mushroom to be seen, and it didn't even look like mushroom soup). Do you like veal? You might like this hotel if you do, they serve it most days. Do you like nice Italian sources? If you do, then pity, you won't get on here. One evening we had 'potatoes'. You know, those potato balls the size of marbles you get at any supermarket in those plastic bags. I couldn't believe how poor the food was, but having said that there was plenty spare having seconds wasn't a problem. Want some more yourself? Be my guest.

Room Tip: Choose an East facing room with a balcony to overlook the valley below.
