We stayed at the hotel for ten nights. When we informed reception at check-in that we were on honeymoon, we received a complimentary bottle of wine direct to our room moments after arriving. This was the first example of the excellent service we came to expect at the hotel throughout our stay, and later discussion with other guests found that they also had very positive things to say.

The room was quite basic, but it had a balcony that gave us a great view over both Cefalu and the sea and whilst initially we thought it was quite small for a ten-day stay, in the end it was more than adequate. The only disappointment was in the bathroom, where the glass shower screen didn’t fit properly onto the bath and so taking a shower meant water flooded the bathroom. A few strategically placed towels took care of that problem, but it was still annoying.

The pool was very picturesquely located amongst trees but also suffered as a result: the shade meant that throughout the day you had to move your sunbed around to follow the areas still in the sun. To avoid this problem, the beach was perfect. The complimentary shuttle service would drop you right outside the (free) private beach where (free) sun loungers and parasols waited for you. The small snack bar restaurant on the beach would take care of lunch for a very reasonable price. Regarding the complimentary shuttle service: if the shuttle at a particular time was overbooked, they were happy to do another trip, and you needn’t wait out in the sun for it as the reception hall couches were close at hand.

The hotel itself is located away from town, but only about a ten minute walk or you can take the complimentary shuttle service. If you choose to walk into town, it is easy and safe – the neighbourhood is quiet and calm. We often walked into town after dinner to have a drink and soak up the atmosphere. In fact, the location of the hotel was perfect as it not only meant that you could park your car out front (there is ample shaded parking), but that you avoided being right in the middle of the busy but very charming little town.

We chose the half-board option and whilst we had initially wondered about having breakfast only so we could take advantage of the famous Sicilian cuisine in town in the evenings, we realised during our very first dinner in the hotel that we had in fact taken the better option – the food at the hotel in the evening, every evening, was outstanding and the service exemplary. In addition to the already excellent menu, each day they also had a new menu of the day. I would highly recommend the half-board option from a quality point of view of the evening meals, but also from a budget point of view – if booked in advance it works out cheaper and also more affordable than you would find in town for the equivalent standard of food. Of course if you only want to eat pizza and pasta every night, you probably don’t want to go for half-board.

The breakfast buffet was very good too, with options for most palates, from a cooked breakfast to fresh fruit and juice. With a busy restaurant in the morning, it was inevitable that from time to time the buffet would run low, but would be replaced as fast as possible and always with a smile.

While the entire restaurant service staff was excellent, special mention must be made of the head waiter, Francesco Savoca, who went out of his way to accommodate us. Whether it was a specially prepared dish at dinner or a particular bread kept aside for breakfast, he was incredibly friendly, efficient and excelled at his job, which was to make our dining moments as good as possible. Which they were.

We have many good things to say about this hotel, the service of all of the staff being one of them. At no point where we greeted with anything except helpfulness, courtesy and a smile. I have no problem recommending the place to others. Enjoy!

This is a great hotel, everybody from the cleaning staff to the metre of the restaurant is at the highest level of professionalism.
It is 20 minutes walk from the center, but you can use a shuttle if you don't fancy the walk (down/up hill).
The restaurant is superb, I am Italian and I do know what is good italian cuisine, and we had some of the best dinners at the hotel restaurant, not to mention the buffet breakfast in the morning.
The suite we had was just perfect.

We stayed here for three nights. It is a lovely hotel a little outside of the town - about 7 - 10 mins in a taxi (€10-15). The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. lots of comfortable seating areas inside and outside on the various terraces. There is a very nice pool with lots of sun beds. The hotel owns its own beach and runs a shuttle service to and from the beach daily. Hotel guests do not pay for use of the beach , loungers or umbrellas. The beach has a lovely bar, clean toilets and showers available. The food in the bar is very good and very reasonably priced.

You can walk from the hotel to the centre of the town in about 20 minutes, the trip back in darkness and uphill is less pleasant and in the humidity you may need a cab.

The breakfast is truly a feast and should not be missed. There is a lunch served from 1-3 and outside of that there is food available at the bar. The bar food is very limited and over priced.

We dinned in the restaurant which was lovely. The dessert trolley was a particular highlight - why have one when you can have four.

The staff were helpful, there was free wifi throughout, including up at the pool level.

The hotel was very good value. Hotels of this class closer to the centre were significantly more expensive so we think we did well with this choice.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have better views.

This hotel is situated just a mile away from the picturesque town centre of Cefalù. This makes it peaceful if you want it to be, but close enough to join the buzz of the town. The set-up of the hotel wonderful with a great breakfast area. The same counts for the bar balcony. The service is great and we had lots of good tips from the barman Davide. Last but not least a divers and good quality breakfast.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a good view!

We have stayed at this hotel before and came back again when we wanted to visit Cefalu. The hotel is not "at the centre of things" but that is what we wanted. Close enough to get into Cefalu, but far enough to be peaceful. The room was the same as we had before and had a view over the bar/restaurant area and out to the coast. The pool is pleasant, but the areas around the pool that catch the sun for long periods during the day are quite limited. We did have an issue when, after coming back from lunch, another guest had dumped our towels from the sun loungers we had used that morning - and they weren't even German!!! We spent some time at the private beach and would certainly recommend that hotel guests use the beach. The town of Cefalu is magical and there are sufficent restaurants of excellent quality to keep your tastebuds excited. However, the check out experience was dreadful. We had a charge on our room for wine in the restaurant when we had not used the restuarant during our stay because of the town's better offerings. The reception staff member seemed to be at a loss at what to do and asked a more senior member of staff for help - what followed was just plain rude. We stood there and were ignored while other guests were helped and even they commented on the lack of professionalism. We were delayed by almost 30 minutes before the issue was dealt with and the charge removed. We left without an apology or even an "Arrivederci" - good job we were not leaving to catch a flight as we would have probably missed the plane's departure. It is a pity that this issue was so badly handled by reception and certainly left a bad taste on our departure. Cefalu again - yes, but we will find somewhere else to stay next time.
