“The noisiest place on earth!! Not suitable for lie ins!!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

We stayed here for d 1st week in August and got a room with a view of the square. The loveliness of the location lasted for the duration of 2 photos.....after this you come to the realisation that if it's a quiet relaxing holiday you were after you came to the wrong place. The fun starts at 7am in the square each morning and this can range from a strimmer gone nuts for about 2 hrs (there's no garden area in the square so this remains a mystery to me) or the friendly neighbourhood helicopter carting heavy items to the top of a mountain via the square for around 3 solid hours to a full on brass bands (our early morning wake up call today). Also, the bedroom doesn't have AC (it's in d sitting room) and its about 40 degrees out so u kind of have to leave the doors open... Not that they can block out the noise even when closed. Separate to the really fun noise issue the linens aren't changed all week.

The positives are- you're in the prettiest part of cefalu and it's a short walk to the beach. There's plenty of nice restaurants and ice cream shops close by and when you're ears have stopped ringing/ bleeding you can enjoy a coffee in the square

A very central location with great views over the main square. Very comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price.

We rented a square-view apartment here for 5 days and loved it. Francesco, Angelo and Stefano worked hard to ensure a smooth stay. Be aware that a room facing the piazza will mean a fair bit of noise, be it as in our case, speeches by political candidates, or festive music til late, from Thursday through Sunday. But thats OK, surely the raucous exhuberance was one of the reasons that you came to this popular beach-historical town. Eating an early morn breakfast with locals outside in that same square is so sympatico---try mandorla paste with yer croissant and cappucino! The view from the Palazzo Maria terrace was incontestably the best one we experienced during our month in Sicilia. The nearby Rocca hike is a must. Also ask the guys about the beaches in the flanking towns, such as Mazzoforno and Settefrati. Two insiders tips: a) consider a daytrip to Madonie Mountain Park's Petralia Soprano town (the real McKoy) b) buy some rare nespola (loqat) honey from Torrefazione Serio shop.

I can only praise Angelo (one of the two managers) and his work at this small hotel. We had a view over the Piazza Duomo and I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Cefalu.

We were absolutely stunned by Palazzo Maria.

You cannot possibly stay at a better location in beautiful Cefalu (unless you prefer a seaview).
With a balcony overlooking the piazza and the Duomo -the nicely furnitured apartments give you the truest and most romantic Italy.

Buy a nice wine in one of the many nice wineries around the corner, and enjoy it on the balcony in the early evening.
Then either just enjoy a yummy pizza from the Pizzeria downstairs, or head out to one of the restaurants recommended by the friendly and helpful owners of Palazzo Maria.

We enjoyed our stay there very much and would always come back.

Thank you very much!

Hotel is located in a delightful sun trap plaza with a view of the cathedral. Accommodations were very comfortable - apartment size rental, consisting of kitchenette (complete with plates, pots/pans,cooking utensils, etc.) separate bedroom and bath (shower only), 16 foot high ceilings, internet access and friendly management (who spoke very good English). Easy access to local restaurants, shopping and beach area. The only drawback - breakfast was not included. The manager went out of his way to find me a charger for my camera - I really appreciated his personal concern. Parking was restricted within the city limits, but we found a parking lot that charged 10 Euros per day to keep our vehicle safe from any local towing or fines. Great city to just spend time eating, drinking and enjoying the local scenery.

I stayed at the Palazzo for three days last week. We were a bit unlucky with the weather but the warmth of the welcome from all at the palazzo made us feel at home straight away.
We had an apartment on the second floor and looked out on the cathedral. Surely the best spot in this lovely little town. The mosaics in the cathedral are quite stunning.
We were met at the airport by Stephano. He was prompt and it was lovely to be driven straight to Palazzo Maria. At the end of our stay we were moving to an apartment in the il Capo market of Palermo. Stephano drove us and Angelo from the palazzo was his navigator. It was extremely difficult to find because of all the narrow roads and one way system but both young men were so calm and helpful and didn't give up until we arrived safely.
In short all concerned with Palazzo Maria go the extra mile to make sure their guests stay is completely relaxing and stress free. Thank you all. ( I hope i remembered your names correctly guys ).

Room Tip: Always choose an apartment overlooking the square and cathedral if at all possible.
