“Key Camp staff great!”
Reviewed September 27, 2008

Echo other comments re lots of Germans and the siesta - don't arrive between 1pm and 3pm as you cannot get in and must wait in the road - there is limited site parking.

Roads to and from the site can be very congested - three mile queues of cars arriving most days, even at 10:00am. If you plan to visit Venice it's best to go by ferry from Punta Sabbioni about 10 miles away. It's a good way to arrive in Venice anyway!

The site has direct access to a lovely sandy beach. Great watersports, with windsurfing, hobie cats, pedalos and canoes, and the beach was well organised with plenty of loungers and sun shades (small charge)

Restaurants on site only fair, but there are several good ones within walking distance in Cavallino. The site has an excellent fruit shop.

Key Camp reps were great and keep a useful stock of left over equipment (tennis racquets, beach mats, umbrellas, etc) - well worth checking their stocks before you buy elsewhere!

We've just returned from a 10 day stay at Garden Paradiso with KeyCamp. Large but very well equipped site. KeyCamp were great, only disappointment was that the pitches were small and you felt like you were living with the people next door.

On the site between 1pm and 3pm Siesta is strictly observed, no car traffic at all, in or out of the site, all the shops on site are closed, no one is allowed to swim in the pool and my husband even got told off for playing badminton. Having said that the rules work and everyone obeys them. The site is spotlessly clean especially the Loo/Shower blocks. Two well stocked shops and Ice Cream counter that is open late, a great pool complex, bar, takeaway and restaurants.

When we went about 90% of the people on site were German, and most things were geared towards them, menus in Italian and German, announcements in Italian and German, felt a bit isolated as a Brit who spoke no Italian.

The entertainment in the evening was good but geared more towards adults than children, our 9 year old enjoyed the Salsa Dancing night and the Sketch shows but found the mimed versions of Les Miserable and Pinocchio a bit dull. For kids Gianni the somewhat eccentric Italian Artist is on hand to help kids paint ceramics for about 10 Euros each, he's a bit scary and speaks only Italian but our 9 year old created a masterpiece!

In summary a great site with wonderful facilities, it's on the beach and in a beautiful area. Would recommend KeyCamp and the site to anyone!

We have just returned from a 10 day stay in Garden Paradiso with Keycamps. The trailers were spotlessly clean and quite comfortable. Although they are meant to house 5, we (four adults 1 child) had two, and I would think that any more would be cramped. The site is superb, fabulous beach, great entertainment, not too expensive shops and bars. Food available all day. The patrons are mainly from Germany, with a smattering of Polish and Dutch visitors. Our nine year old didn't find many other English speaking children toplay with. There is a great restaurant called La Pergola right opposite the entrance to the site, and another a short drive away towards Aqualandia that served the most wonderful (HUGE!) steaks. This was called La Pampa. Venice is a must, and is about 40 minutes from Porto Sabbioni. Great places also at San Margheurita and Caorle.
All in all, a great holiday and I would recommend it.

This campsite proved very popular with the whole family, we stayed in a trailer which was very clean and comfortable, luckily there were only 4 of us and so it wasn't too cramped, those parties of 5 or 6 felt a little closed in. the facilities were excellent as was the location, and the beach was fantastic, sandy and safe. before going I was concerned about the cost of eating out and how much we would have to pay for basic foods, but this proved unfounded and the supermarket in the camp was very well priced. right opposite the camp was an excellent restaraunt
where the food was excellent, very well priced, and catered very well for families, I particularly enjoyed the T.bone steak which cost 14 euros ( about £10.00) and was fantasic. The pools got a little crowded during the day but we always managed to get sun loungers together. in the evening there was entertainment with variious different themes, our kids particularly enjoyed the musicals which the performers did to a click track though no-one else appeared to care about this, musicals on offer were varied going from Mulan to Chicago! in all the incidentals which normally push the cost up like beers, coffee's, ice creams, were well priced and we never felt ripped off, though if you plan to use the sight as a launch pad to Venice it takes an hour to get there, most brochures say it is only half an hour by waterbus which makes it sound very romantic, but fail to mention it's half an hour by bus to the water taxi from the camp!
If it's any recommendation, I would go again, and the family including an 8 and 11 year old would too!

We stayed at the Garden Paradiso Camp Site in Cavallino. 25 may 2007 for one week. The camp site has 511 pitches which include caravans and camping. Keycamp have 22 caravans. We stayed with Keycamp for the first time and had a very good holiday. We found Keycamp provided a very professional service. The two reps Dorothy and Stuart provided local knowlege about the area and places to visit. They were on hand if you needed any advice or support. The camp site is exellent with three swimming pools. One is Olympic size and the other two are heated. Very good for children of all ages. Although less for the teenagers than younger children. The camp site is straight on to a lovely beach with park activites for the children. The beach is very clean and not at all crowded. There is sun beds and umbrellas. The camp site recently put a charge on for this service, We found very few people paying for this service and this is probably due to the charge of around 6 Euros. We found the site very clean and well managed. It does have facilities on site including a good size well priced supermarket. restaurants and coffee shops.
The location of this camp site was one of our main reasons for staying there because it gave us a family holiday with accessibility into Venice. It is a 15 minute drive to Punta Sabbioni and then 45 on the boat into Venice. We had a lovely day in Venice and our children 4 and 8 enjoyed the experience. It is an ideal location to day trip into Venice. It was 7 Euros parking and then 13 Euros each on the boat. Under 5 free. No reduction for the over 5's.
The camp site is only 45 to 60 mins from Marco Polo Airport so ideal for a weeks holiday.
We were there a week with longer we would have had a few more day trips. Apart from on site there is a restaurant across the road which was reasonable with a good menu. Other than the restaurant on site you would need to drive. We did hire a car which we picked up at Marco Polo. A family onsite had used taxi's and paid 60 Euros one way. we heard others had paid more. I think it is worth hiring a car, when you consider the cost and freedom this gives you. Ours cost £138 with Holiday Autos and it means transfers are quick and easy. We also had the car to visit local shops and places near by.

The camp site does hire out direct and they have their own web-site.
In conclusion I would certainly recommend Keycamp and will look to use them again in the future. The Garden Paradiso is a exellent camp site in a lovely location.
Our only moan was when we had to come home and we all wished we had another week. I hope you find this information useful.
