We booked one night here on our road trip round Europe and we are very glad we did. Lovely room, welcoming hosts, fantastic wine and mouth watering food, in our case carved and served by the chef at our table. Quiet location well worth making the effort to find.

Very far off the beaten path and almost impossible to find, staying at the Relais Riserva di Fizzani is worth the effort of locating it. The setting is absolutely spectacular. Overlooks "typical" Tuscan scenery of olive trees, grape vineyards, meandering one lane roads. One can spend hours behind the camera or gaping at the Tuscan beauty. The hotel itself is low- keyed, well appointed, and lovely. The rooms are rather dark but spacious. Not luxurious, but a real place to retreat. Nice pool. Good breakfasts. Dinners are good, though the menu is limited mostly to pasta and meat selections. The lamb and steak are reportedly excellent. We went with another cole and took two rooms with magnificent views. Almost other- worldly. Walking the road down to the horses was not for the faint of heart, but oh how beautiful once there. Tour of the winery is interesting. Finally, the staff is small but excellent....attentive, friendly, out to make sure guests have a unique experience.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 11. Fabulous view, spacious apartment.

A winding road on top of rolling hills covered in olive trees and rows of grapes capped off by stunning stone buildings over looking the distant vistas of wineries and estates. A special place with quiet attentive friendly staff. Lovely swimming pool, surrounded by umbrellas and loungers to lay back and watch the clouds drift by. Wonderful restaurant on site, with caring staff who serve in a relaxed professional manner. Front desk staff so helpful.

Room Tip: Book a garden room with basic kitchen

We arrived to this beautiful resort in a lovely landscape and in a few minutes we knew it would be even better than expected. Our friends had hard time finding the resort - foreigners arriving by car, we strongly recommend to feed the coordinates given in your confirmation email to your GPS - this way it was really easy to find. The staff was very helpful though, so don't worry if you get lost.

All in all the staff was fantastic, this kind of hospitality and warmth is hard to find. We received all the service we needed. Only con in the rooms is the lack of air-conditioning, but didn't bother us even when daytime temperatures rose to 37°C - just do as locals, keep the windows closed during the day and open during the night. The thick stone walls keep the heat away.

The food at the restaurant is exceptionally good, also within the Italian standard. The men in our group had the best steak of their lives, and everything else was equally delicious - and with the wines, believe what they recommend you, they really know what's best. We would recommend a visit to this restaurant even if you're not staying in the hotel!

The pool area is beautiful and tastefully organized. You can pick a bottle of the estate's cheerful white wine, Biancobianco, at the bar and enjoy it by the pool looking over a breathtaking Tuscany landscape. The four of us found the pool a big plus in the heat of the day.

The visit to Rocca delle Macie winery was very nice, and they were happy to answer any questions whether you're a beginner or an expert in wines. All in all there's no pressure to understand everything about wines in this place - the staff are glad to share their expertise and knowledge so you can concentrate on the main thing, enjoying your stay. And by the time you leave, you'll sure know a bit more. One warning though - our suitcase weighed a good 10kg more after shopping these wines...

Fizzano is an ideal place whether you travel as a couple or with friends. We will definitely return.

This place is worth to drive a few hours for just to have lunch... at least that it what we done twice now and it is more than worth the effort!!! It is just magic; all of it: The Food, The View, The Atmosphere: The Staff..... go an see for yourself you will not be disappointed.
During our last trip they specially openend up the restaurant for Lunch just for our small party of 6 friends as we really wanted to celebrate our 2 year marriage here. It was so heart warming and so flexible of the owner and the staff to especially open up 1 sunday earlier in the season to accomodate our request. Moreover the food was sooooo delicious and authentic and I would recommend if you go and eat here just follow their recommendations as they have a very fine feeling for what is good to eat in the season and definitely try their own wines including their own wonderful bubbles!!! It is a gift to have found this place and we will definitely return again and again!

Riserva di Fizzano has a lot of character and charm in the heart of Tuscany. It is an old estate, tastefully restored with breath taking views every where you look. You can see San Gimiganino and the towers on a clear day from the property. All of the suites are spacious and very authentically decorated to keep the charm of the location and era, very rustic and rather large rooms. We had a two bedroom suite, one with a full size bed, and another with twin beds for our two kids. We had a full kitchen, dining table and living room. You can easily cook and store food in your wonderful apartment. Each bedroom had its own full bathroom too. When you think of wanting to experience the charm of Tuscany, this is definitely the place to do it. The hospitality of the staff is exceptional. They are very attentive in helping you in any way.
We ate at the restaurant on the premises and experienced local Tuscany cuisine. We did not realize that Riserva di Fizzano has a big role in working with the Olive Garden US restaurant chain. The Chefs at Riserva di Fizzano regularly train the chefs that work at Olive Garden to learn how to prepare authentic italian Tuscany cousine. The food was fabulous and the wine that they served was fantastic partially because the property is owned by the Rocca delle Macie winery. Many of the dishes melted in your mouth with exceptional quality and taste. Something you won't find at the local Olive Garden, lol, but you will be impressed in the way they prepare and present the dishes. YUM!!!

We signed up for a wine tour and tasting and really enjoyed seeing the full range of wines. My husband and son who are not normally dessert wine drinkers, found theirs to be exceptional in full body taste -- highly recommend Dolceluna. We enjoyed seeing their wine process. The tour was well worth the time in understanding how they prepare their wines. The wine shop can ship any where in the world, so you can order and have your wine shipped back to you in the states. We bought a case of white and red wines and are having them shipped to the US.

If you want daily room service, you have to request this at the front desk. We did not know this and after having a full day of fun in Tuscany, we came back to our beds not being made. We had an apartment type suite on the second floor with some fantastic views, but the stairs going up were a little steep and very rustic. While the stairs were not a challenge for us, it would be for my parents that are in their 80's. If you have elders in your party, you may want to make reservations in advance to secure one of the suites that are on the ground floor, so you do not have to deal with the steps.
The drive to find this country estate could be challenging without renting a GPS -- we were able to enter the coordinates and be brought right to the front door. It is out in the countryside, so I would highly recommend renting a GPS for the week.
This country estate is beautiful. It surpassed our expectations in every way and if we go back to Tuscany, there is no question about our plans to stay there again. Our two kids who are in their mid-20's were really taken back and thoroughly enjoyed the Tuscany experience. A trip of a life time, and Riserva di Fizzano made it a very memorable time for all of us. THANK YOU.

Room Tip: All of the suites appear to be spacious with great views no matter where you get a suite. Second fl...

Riserva di Fizzano is located in the herat of Chianti. Rather difficult to find it. Old estate, tastefully restored. All rooms/appartments are spacious and well decorated. Also a good restaurant. Here you can buy some samples of the "Rocca della Macie" wine selection.

Room Tip: Dont worry too much, all rooms are nice.
