We stayed a week in late Sept. 2006 at the agriturismo (farmhouse apartments) operated by the owners of the Palazzo Squarcialupi. It was fabulous! We walked up the hill from our farmhouse apt. every morning for breakfast (very good) at the hotel . The walk was through a vineyard filled with ripe grapes and a fig tree. Our apartment had a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and 2 bathrooms, and a patio and was very comfortable. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful to us during our week. We took day trips to Siena, Pisa, Florence and took hikes through vineyards to nearby villages (Volpia and Vertine are delightful). Take the book called "Walking and Eating in Tuscany" for good hiking directions. I highly recommend this agriturismo.
