Castello La Leccia is a beautiful property with a charming staff, beautiful rooms. meticulously tended gardens and a large swimming pool. And oh, did I mention the superb wines and olive oil made by Francesco Daddi, the hotel’s owner? And the authentic Tuscan cuisine cooked by Antonio, the chef?

Perched on a hill with views of Siena and San Gemignano in the distance Castello La Leccia is the perfect place to just relax or to sue as a center for exploring the cultural wonders of the region. The staff posts local events every day on a blackboard in the lobby. And Francesco gives a tour of the wine cellar every day at 5:30 (don’t miss it if you are interested in wine). The tour is followed by a wine and olive oil tasting in the hotel (Francesco does not call it a hotel but rather a farm with some guest rooms) accompanied by local cheeses.

This really is one of the most charming and beautiful places I have ever stayed at in Italy or anywhere else, for that matter.

The hotel only opened last year which is why there's so little to base your decision on whether to go or not. JUST BOOK IT! My husband and I stayed for 4 nights (Aug 13) and were impressed in every way. The decor and facilities of the rooms, communal areas and outside were flawless and the service was absolutely fantastic. Italy is not known for its service culture but the staff here, every last one of them, go out of their way to ensure you have everything you want and need; for example even if there are only 2 of you at the pool - which is often the case as there are only 12 rooms in total - someone will be down every couple of hours to see if you want water, prosecco...

The restaurant is really great and the view from the terrace is wonderful. The wine is VERY cheap and absolutely delicious - they offer mainly the wines from the estate which are sold at unbelievably good prices (the most expensive I think was €22 and there were some less than €10 plus you can buy it, and the home-produced olive oil to take home) which just goes to highlight how well they treat guests (they could really bump those prices).

The owner takes anyone who wants to go on a tour of the winery and then for a wine tasting every day at 17:30 and gives a background of La Leccia and his family which is also really nice to do.

My husband and I travel really extremely frequently for both business and pleasure and so we do know what makes for a good hotel and this ticks all the boxes. I am honestly at a loss as to anything that could make it better.

Dear Jo,

thank you for all your nice words! The compliments to both our staff and our wines are very much appreciated, since we all work very hard and try very hard to do our best to make our guests’ stay at Castello La Leccia worth remembering and always hoping they will wish to come back here to find, once again, the same lovely and relaxed atmosphere.
As for the wines, winemaking is the soul of our place and we are happy to share our love for it with our guests. For us selling wine is not only selling a glass bottle, we try to offer a sip of our land, hoping to offer a moment of conviviality with the people you love.
Your compliments are especially meaningful to us, as both you and your husband are frequent travelers and have the chance to see and try several accommodations. It is a great pleasure to see that for you we “tick all the boxes” to be a good place to stay! 
We certainly hope to welcome you again with your husband for another wonderful stay with us!
Best Regards
Beatrice Cambioni

I stumbled upon this little gem almost by accident. I only had a glass of wine while the sun set, but the memory will last a lifetime. Lovely atmosphere, great vibes, and an accommodating staff made my (short) time here memorable and interesting.

If you need a break after a hectic year working like crazy or if you want to offer a special gift to your wife, if you love good food, wine, astonishing panoramas, culture, a good book at the pool, a tastefully renovated small luxury hotel with a warm and personal service, wel , don't hesitate anymore. Stop searching on the internet and booke immediately.
We stayed here this summer with our boys of 16 and 18 years old and this was one of our best holidays ever. Thanks Francesco, Alice, Rafaella and all of the staff!

We stayed at this exceptional hotel for seven days in July. What can I say........it was wonderful! On arrival we were met by Beatrice and shown to our room. An absolutely magnificent view of the countryside with Siena and San Giminagno in the distance. The rooms are spotlessly clean with high quality bed linens and valances. The bathrooms are also spotlessly clean complete with towelling gowns and a selection of towels. All credit to the cleaning staff..Bathroom products are plentiful and replenished daily. We had a minor glitch in our room and moved to another for the rest of our stay. Alicia arranged for us to move rooms and was very helpful to us. Our new room was equally as wonderful as the first but with a view of the courtyards. There are also in the hotel other rooms you can use to read or work in complete peace. It is such a good idea to have an age restriction here. Young children would definitely spoil the atmosphere. We used the pool most days weather permitting. Sun beds were very comfortable, towels and bottles of water are provided for your use at the pool. We spoke to Francesco's mother at the pool most days. She is an absolute treasure, a lady whose company you would never tire of. The view of the countryside from the pool is amazing even though there is a winery on the left hand side. We just thought it seemed appropriate so it did not spoil said view. We had a tour of the winery with Francesco's father who gave us an insight to the work that goes into your bottle of wine. We enjoyed this immensely, an extremely knowledgable man. After the winery tour Alicia treated us to a wine and olive oil tasting hour, we thoroughly enjoyed this and learnt a lot from this very intelligent young lady. We used the restaurant most nights which we thought delivered good Tuscan food. I don't eat meat but could manage to pick something most nights for a main course albeit leaving out the meat part of the meal. Thank you to Chef for catering to my specific needs. The waiting staff are multilingual and extremely polite and helpful, a credit to the hotel. Breakfast is equally enjoyable with a self service buffet of savoury and sweet products. We ventured to Florence one day and had drinks and appetisers in Francesco's wife's family hotel which was featured in the film "A Room With A View". It certainly did have a view of the Duomo and Uffizi also The Palazzo Vecchio, magnificent! We met some really lovely people at the hotel who were just as pleased as we were to stay there. I am sure they will all return one day,I know we will. We hated having to leave this wonderful place and our next hotel just could not come close to Castello La Leccia. We just wished we had stayed longer and cancelled the second part of our trip. All in all a great holiday with a special thank you to Señora Daddi who we found to be charming. Francesco we definitely had a dream holiday thank you so much.

Room Tip: Magnificent views from top floor rooms at the back of the hotel.

Dear Mrs Greaney,

Knowing that your holiday with us was a dream come true is the greatest compliment we can receive from you, for which we are very thankful. Handling the minor glitch with your room was our pleasure and we were glad to help you, as much as we are always keen on making your holiday special and unforgettable. We are glad this little inconvenient did not affect your memory of Castello La Leccia.
Mrs Daddi also keeps a very good memory of you, she is a really sweet lady, always caring to welcome our guests with her gentleness and hospitality.
Also thank you very much for the nice compliments for our food and to our staff, it is always a pleasure to receive them and it compels us in doing a good job.
We certainly hope to welcome you soon again, to enjoy a true holiday in Chianti by the pool with a lovely glass of wine at sunset.
Best Regards

Hi,
We stayed here in July 2013 for a few nights whilst travelling around Tuscany. We have been to various hotels and guest houses and really love the area. We stumbled across this place and the views just looked amazing so decided to stay for a few nights. Well, I'm so glad we did as we had the most amazing stay! The scenery is just breathtaking and I mean really breathtaking and surrounds the hotel and the pool. The food is fantastic, even the simplest dishes and snacks were so delicious and the staff went out of their way to be helpful in every possible way. During our stay we celebrated my partners birthday and our engagement and the staff were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we had the best time (the sunset dinner and birthday cake was especially appreciated)
They also make their own wines and olive oil - definitely worth trying and buying a few bottles to bring home!
A big thank you to Alice, Beatrice, Francesco and all the other staff - we'll definitely be returning!
Matt and Sara

Our little Fiat 500 almost stopped itself as Castello La Leccia came into view. This is a truly beautiful place with stunning views.............the hills of Chianti and Sienna in the distance. Warmly greeted by Alice and Francesco, we knew immediately that out time here would be something special. This is a place to relax in stylish elegance and comfort. There exists an air of serenity that is rarely found these days and everyone at Castello La Leccia is perfectly charming and helpful, conveying a sense of calm among the guests.
The bedrooms are superb. Supremely comfortable and very well furnished and appointed. If you like a decent shower then this is the place to be. A superb bathroom with a wonderfully spacious monsoon shower, perfect to awaken the senses for a day exploring this magical region. Take time to linger in the library and other areas. The attention to detail and decor is delightful and views across the garden and beyond are breathtaking.
Exploring the garden we came across carefully planted borders and arches covered in wisteria and fragrant jasmine. Breakfast was taken here and it is a good feeling to begin each day with beautifully fresh local produce whilst being warmed by the Tuscan sun.
After a day's exploring it was good to be refreshed in the pool with its panoramic view toward the towers of Sienna.
This is a difficult place to leave.............but comforted by the pleasure of having been a guest of Francesco and his delightful team.
And finally..............the wine and olive oil produced by Francesco are utterly delicious!
