We arrived in the area after a 10 hour day of driving down from Germany. It was about 9p on a Saturday night when we finally started walking around town looking for a place to have dinner. We ended up here. The staff was welcoming, helpful and (a few in particular) extremely friendly... One lady was helping to entertain a toddler that was getting fussy towards the end of a couple's meal; which we all appreciated because the toddler has started to scream. But that passed quickly, and we were still able to enjoy a nice, quiet dinner as a kidless couple.

We ordered the "Super Tuscany" wine by the glass... very tasty (8 euro), I wish I had found out what it was really called, so we could try to find it outside of the restaurant. We split the artichoke flan and pecorino starter.... rich, creamy & delicious. We each had the wild boar pasta (only 8 euro as well). The pasta was great; the boar sauce fell a little bit short of it's potential, (the flavors were not as complex/layered has I've had else where), but it was still a good dish over all and I thought an excellent value given the price. We also ordered a side of the white beans. Again, they were some what disappointing, because the flavors were very basic and we found ourselves wishing there were more herbs or spices to round out the good flavor of the beans.

But as an over all experience, we were happy with the restaurant. The food was solid, and fairly priced.

We ate here without a reservation and were greeted warmly. We had fantastic food in a lovely atmosphere and had a photo taken of the group of 7 of us by the waiter with an oversized bottle of Chianti. We had a leisurely 3 course meal with all the dishes being an absolute delight. Wild Boar for first plate and main were both outstanding, not to mention the lamb with almonds and pork with mustard. Desserts were also a hit, with the tiramisu, panna cotte and chocolate bomba (chocolate fondant) being a bit hit. Overall it was a great atmosphere and a reasonably priced meal for the quality of the food. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return.

This restaurant is located at the main road passing through the old town in Castellina in Chianti and the interior is decorated very nicely. The atmosphere, service and food variety were all very good.
