“Beautiful Location,Excellent Apartments.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2010

This is the second time we have stayed at Borgo Sicelle, the location is stunning, well kept grounds with swimming pool and games room.We would recommend it for couples and families.Only thirty minutes from Florence,San Gimignano,Certaldo and a little further is Sienna. Franco and family are very helpful and attentive. It is easy to travel to on the motorway outside Pisa airport and head towards Florence. Our favourite memory is watching the sunset from our patio with the hills of Tuscany stretched out infront of us.We are hoping to return with our family in the near future.Near to Borgo Sicelle a small bar has opened where they serve excellent food at reasonable prices.

We have had the pleasure of staying at Borgo Sicelle several times.
Why do we often come back to this place ? Mainly because it is a very charming and relaxing place to stay, located more on the quiet country side where one can "sit among the wine grapes and hear them grow".
Borgo Sicelle is ideally situated in the heart of Chianti, with a short distance away from Firenze and Siena.
We always enjoy our stays here, very much thanks to the very helpful and friendly owners, Silvia and Franco (and their 2 lovely little daughters).
The entire family gives the place a touch of a relaxed, cosy and warm atmosphere - and who can resist such a "behaviour" when on holidays ?
Regards from Evy and Terje, Oslo Norway.

I have just booked my family into Borgo Sicelle for the sixth time in seven years. For us it is the perfect place to holiday as you have beautiful self catering apartments in a picturesque surounding overlooking the vineyards and olive groves of tuscanny, and a very open and friendly host family that give local information on festivals, markets etc. It is perfectly situated between Florence and Sienna and offers short trips to the San Giminanno or Volterra. Some good walking routes nearby, great cycling, the local town San Donato has a great public pizza place which is great fun and there are some great restaurants and vineyards around where you can enjoy local chianti and great food.

A high number of guests are return guests which says it all!!

With the location between Florence and Sienna, Borgo Sicelle is the absolute top location for exploring Tuscany. And if you just want to spend a few hours in one of the small Tuscany villages, they are just around the corner. The Borgo itself gives you an excelent frame for your vacation. We have visited the Borgo three times, once with our children and grand children and the place works fine wether you are just a couple or a large family group. I guess you can imagine yourself... at the end of a long sunny day.... at the end of the table, with your family around you enjoying the meal while the sun sets. It's just great.

An unforgettable experience. We were three couples and were accommodated in one unit having separate bedrooms and showers. The kitchen and living area were common.

The accommodation was fully equipped and there were good washing facilities in the complex.

Though we were couples the complex can easily cater for children as there was a sizable games room.

Nearest village Tavarnelle hosts a good supermarket, shops and restaurants for those unwilling to cook at the residence.

Borgo Sicelle is a good base and well situated to visit nearby towns of Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra etc. Firenze and Pisa are also reachable.

Will go again.
