had a nice dinner here - it appeared fancier than it really was, but it was still lovely and served well made, local fare. location was ideal and the service was prompt and professional.

We wanted to try other resto in the area but was closed so we ended up here. The location is very central in Castellina Chianti, and somehow I felt that it was kinda packed just because it's in good location and not really because of the food.

We had warm starter which most of them were warmed food (perhaps microwaved), which is not really acceptable for a restaurant. The pasta was not that great, and again it tasted not so freshly made so it was major disappointment for us. I wouldn't recommend to eat there, cause we went to many restaurants in Castellina and most of them were definitely better.

This was my favorite restaurant meal in Tuscany. The food was delicious! We went on a weeknight and the place was packed. It seems to be very popular. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Castellina in Chianti.

Visited this restaurant only yesterday evening having spent the day driving through Chianti - the first place we stopped at (down the road) was booked for a private venue and they recommended this place.

Friendly smiling staff greeted us and sat us down immediately which was nice.

Lovely location, right in the square. Our starters were brought out very quickly which made me question the time and effort gone into the preparation? I had Mozzarella canapes with Anchovy sauce. Firstly the Mozzarella wasn't Mozzarella, especially not the fresh kind as it was yellow in colour instead of white. The breaded soup was ok, but again nothing special.

Service was ok, not very attentive, took a long time to clear plates, in the end we had to stack them on the edge of the table so we could talk and socialise without leaning in our dinner! Had to ask for the bill three times, they were fully booked, but still wouldn't expect to have to keep asking. Waiter also did not serve us our wine, only poured it to let us taste it and then walked off to attend to another table! Not what I would expect at all.

Very touristy place, I felt it was more well known for the location as oppose to the food and quality of service, and perhaps tourists are more sold on the fact it is in Chianti and overlook the basics. Would have been nice if it was more genuine and authentic feeling.

Real shame as this place looked really promising, but from working / living in Italy now for 4 months I know when I have had a good experience, and this unfortunately was not it.

This is a great restaurant in the heart of Castellina in Chianti. We had a lovely dinner there our first night in Tuscany. The service was fine, the food very good, and the wine excellent!
