We loved staying here -
It was close to the Pompeii ruins and we went on a great boat tour of Capri from here - the restaurant food was lovely - the staff helpful. We will recommend this to all out friends and family !

A high standard hotel with an excellent and uncrowded swimming pool , with sun loungers , umbrellas and towels provided without charge ( as is the case for the equally good private beach and safe bathing ). The rooms with sea view and balcony provide a stunning view of the bay and vesuvius and are recommended. The negative side is that the restaurant dinner menu is limited in choices - only four secondii platti - and does not change. Also unlike the towns of Sorrento and the nearer Vico Equense , the hotel is not in a location blessed with nearby restaurants. Only Stone Restaurant is within a ten minute walk. Castellammare Di Stabia is a forty five minute walk , not a tourist town , and sadly lacking in places to eat ( Bistrot recommended on Trip Adviser was closed on July 2nd evening ). The trade off is that the cost for the quality of hotel is significantly less than the traditional tourist centres. Most of the holidaymaker tours can be booked at the hotel and pick up outside the hotel ( we did Vesuvius / Pompei full day which was enjoyable - note though that entrance fees of 10 euro and 11 euro per person are payable in cash on site. ) , The hotel operates a regular shuttle to Sorrento at 2.50 euro each way. From Sorrento bus services run to Amalfi , Positano and elsewhere with a 7.60 euro ticket valid for 24 hours ( beware that at en route pick ups it is standing room only .) As the roads are very winding, narrow and very busy the bus is much less stressful than self drive. Overall the hotel is an economic base for the holdaymaker willing to make the effort to get about - but not for a stay beyond a week.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms with balcony recommended.

This hotel is a hidden gem, located between Naples and Sorrento. Full sea view rooms have balconies with exquisite views across the Bay of Naples towards Mount Vesuvius. Rooms are modern in style with good facilities including free bottled water, tea/coffee making facilities, a mini-bar, and wi-fi. There is also a spa, and a wonderful swimming pool (free towels supplied) with panoramic views across the bay. An evening sundowner on the terraza is a delight, followed by dinner 'al fresco', again all with magnificent views across the bay. The set dinner menu offers an excellent choice of local dishes, or there is an additional menu which changes daily. The quality of the food was high as is to be expected in Italy. The buffet breakfast had an extensive choice. All the staff on Reception and in the dining area were exceptionally friendly and helpful at all times. The Head Waiter in particular in the restaurant was helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of Naples and Sorrento, but is all the better for that. This does mean, however, that options for eating outside the hotel are very limited. Having said that, the hotel runs a regular minibus shuttle into Sorrento which takes about 30 minutes and costs 2.50 Euros each way; there is also a regular coach service (The Curreri bus) between Sorrento and Naples airport which stops on the main road outside the hotel. Both will also stop at Vico Equense on request to catch the Circumvesuviano train to Pompeii, Herculaneum or Naples Garibaldi railway station. Cost from Naples airport to the hotel on the Curreri bus is 8 Euros and takes about an hour. Again, Reception staff were extremely helpful in providing timetable information about both the minibus shuttle and the Curreri bus. The hotel was not busy when we were there, which is why I regard it as a hidden gem. The hotel is excellent overall, but its superb location with panoramic views across the bay towards Vesuvius make it very special indeed. Do spend extra on a full sea view room: it is well worth it!

Room Tip: Full sea view rooms on the first floor or above are worth the extra.

This is a nice hotel. Great staff, and very helpful with any request, although a tad under resourced at key times.

Rooms are great, what you would expect from a Crown place. Free internet around the hotel, although it does not work everywhere which is annoying.

The hotel has both an in ground pool (kid friendly), and a private beach if that's what you like. There is a day spa with extensive options for spoiling yourself.

The breakfast is great, hot and cold foods, a wide selection of breads, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, you name it.

The lunch and dinner menu did not change in 4 nights. This makes longer stays a little tedious as the menu choice is not massive.

The location is very nice, however, you are 30-40 minutes from the town of Sorrento. The distance and terrain are well beyond the average person to walk so transport is a must. The hotel offers a shuttle for $2.5E each way which is a cheaper alternative to hiring a car or taxi. Lift and ramp access to all the buildings. Nice separate bar area (away from restaurant) that is open late. A beautiful view of Mt Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples also gives the place a nice feel.

The hotel also offers a range of day tours. I took the Monte Cassino one, which was great value and well worth it. Modern coach, good AC, for those hot days.

At the end of the day, this is the type of place you could not need to leave for anything. Given their distance from Sorrento I feel this is how they have tried to structure the place. If that is your game then you will be fine. If you like to get out and about though, prepare for a trip each day to get into town.

Nice big baths in the rooms as well.

Disappointing that a hotel such as the Crowne Plaza runs such a poor operation. FYI it's the 21st century and this place charges for wi-fi and per device. It's also in the middle of no where with limited shuttle service to and from town. It cost us a 100 euro cab ride to this location from Naples. We asked for the cheapest way back and were informed to get the shuttle or local bus to Sorrento (45-60 min) to catch a local train to Naples (60+ minutes) and then to walk about 5 minutes from train station to station. There is a private beach and beautiful views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples but other than that, that's all the positives we have. Reception works at a snails pace with difficultly understanding English and the bath towels shed more fabric onto your clean skin then per-shower. This place would go belly up in the US.
