I agree completely with the last reviewer. This was our best meal in Italy, including first-rate restaurants in Rome. We were probably the only non-– locals dining on a busy Saturday night. Everyone was dining on the large patio overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Every dish we had was outstanding, and the prices were ridiculously low. The house jug wine was as good as any Brunello (and, come to think of it, probably was a Brunello). Everything on the antipasto platter was perfect. We had the pici scottiglia, thick spaghetti with a sort of meat stew sauce, and the boiled beef with mixed vegetables; both were excellent. For dessert, we had Ricotta with fresh fruit and honey – I'm not sure what the name of it was, but it was delicious. The staff could not have been nicer, despite a slight language barrier. We were made to feel totally welcome. If you are in the Montalcino area, you would do well to dine here.
