This was out fourth week spent skiing from this hotel in four years.
From the skiing point of view, the ski bus stop is about 50m from the hotel's front door (but the bus is now charged at 6euros for the week) and the gondola up to the Belvedere (and therefore Sella Ronda) about 600m away. The locker room is excellent with adequate numbers of boot driers.

There has been a major investment in the last year to add a swimming pool to the Wellness Centre and this has been done tastefully with part of the pool indoors and part out via triggered sliding doors. However the outdoor hot-tub is now difficult to access.

The rooms are large and comfortable, fresh towels and maid service every day.

Breakfast is buffet style, with continental elements but also scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, fried eggs and omelette to order, toast and boiled eggs to make yourself.
The waiting staff and Maitre D are ever present, attentive and seem happy with their work.
Half Board evening meal consists of a large salad buffet, choice of two appetisers, fours starters, four mains and an extensive dessert menu. This holiday we noticed that there was very definitely a couple of "good" choices and a couple of definitely "less-good" choices to be made - which were not always apparent by studying the menu - somewhat lost in translation maybe? Luckily, the Maitre D is happy to offer his opinion about which to avoid, if you ask.

It seems amazing to me that, having invested so much to install a pool, the advertised free wifi can at-best be described as rudimentary. You have 48hrs usage over the week (plenty) but have to sign in and out each time that you want to use it, it only really works downstairs and even then regularly drops out.
In summary: a 5* wellness centre now, 4* rooms but the HB menu needs a bit of a shake-up and the wifi needs bringing into the 21st century.

Room Tip: At the back are less noisy.

We are almost every year in Croce Bianca and its always a great experience!!! The only minus last time was that they closed down Husky Pub but instead of it they are constructing brand new SPA!!!! We will check it in 2014:)
Food as always on high level.
If you want to spend nice winter holiday then this is one of the best places to stay in Canazei!!!!!

Nice hotel with a lot of atmosphere and all the facilities you need to relax and spend a good skiing week. Spacious rooms, great kitchen, a little but well equipped SPA area including massage and beauty treatments. We really enjoyed our week and will be happy to come again - not booking through Northlander though but that will be a separare review.

This was the third year that we have spent a week here for skiing. The hotel was is well-appointed and seems to have a regular programme of updates e.g. this year they have enlarged the wine bar to include a series of eating booths, next year we understand that there are plans for a swimming pool. The rooms, as always, were spotless, and they try so hard in the bathroom that some of the chrome plating has been rubbed away. The Wellness Suite is fairly extensive and free unless you want some treatments.
What we noticed this year (and possibly last) is that there seems to have been some budget restrictions in the restaurant. Breakfasts were unchanged with an extensive cold buffet of sweet and savoury, various cereals, fresh orange juice, hot drinks, scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, toast etc. However, the evening meal's choices seemed generally lower value and more simple in content. The dessert menu looked unchanged.
Prices were up by (I think) about 10% since last year.
All in all, still a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back of the hotel.

The hotel manager cancelled a 6 pm appointment for a massage at 5:30 pm without any comprehensible reason and was EXTREMELY rude . This hotel charges a lot of money for bad service. The only good part is the restaurant and the location. This is not at all 4 star quality.

I have stayed here a few times on skiing trips and had the chance to take my fiancee for a few days there. We booked the Panorama Suite and were not dissapointed.

The bedroom is upstairs in a square tower (only way I can describe it) with excellent views. There was an en-suite and large plasma TV upstairs. Downstairs there was another TV and a large bathroom with jacuzzi-bath.

The staff are very friendly and when my fiancee left her passport in the safe and we drove back to Verona the hotel went out of their way to get it back to us, posting it back to the UK or us.

The food was excellent and given that we were there in winter, it was nice to sit around the roaring log fire to warm up.

Centrally located, ski room and a short 5 minute walk to the ski lift.

Room Tip: Try the Panorama Suite.

We stayed in this hotel in 2011 in the week containing Russian Orthodox Christmas (6th January) and did not enjoy the atmosphere in the public areas. Otherwise I would have described it as "almost perfect".
We returned in 2012 one week later and were very happy to find that the atmosphere was completely different with much more smiling, laughter and general happiness from both guests and staff.
We now know which week to avoid and will be returning next year to enjoy this hotel's pleasures again.
The restaurant: fantastic five course evening meals with a good choice in each course
The room: this time a "Junior Suite" - loads of room and a perfectly adequate bathroom (though unsurprisingly not as amazing as the more expensive Vivenes suite). Only objections would be noise transmission from both the corridor and the neighbouring bathroom and a lack of tea-making facilities.
Bar: Huge. Rather dominated by somewhat loud musician playing covers.
Fireplace area: More soft seating
Smoking Room and Children's Room: not sampled
Wine Bar: Didn't find this last year - a great shame as it is a superb place for pre-dinner drinks. Hidden behind an almost invisible unmarked door behind the Pool Table.
Wellness Suite: not sampled last year as the web-site and literature seemed to imply nudity! Luckily not the case - indoor and outdoor hot-tubs, various steam rooms, saunas showers and treatment rooms (extra cost).

Room Tip: Back of the hotel is a lot quieter.
