This is only a one star B&B, but we've stayed in three star hotels with less facilities! The hotel is in a quiet cul-de-sac and a 5-10 min walk from the Belvedere Gondola, a bus stop or the end of an easy red piste, and less than a minute from shops, restaurants etc. The rooms are all different, and furnishings are a bit dated, some rooms had carpets, some with laminted flooring but always warm. Our bathroom was big with large shower and always hot water no matter what time of day you had one and also a modern hairdryer. The rooms had single beds - pushed together and made up as a double. Large wardrobe, bedside tables, chairs and a desk. The beds were comfortable with good quality sheets. The rooms, and the hotel in general, were the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The boot and ski room is large with modern boot warmers and lots of places for skis. The breakfast was simple but adequate. A great little find!!
We ate our evening meals at the Hotel Pareda, which is close to the Belvedere station but there is a lot of choice for good quality eating places in Canazei and nothing is too expensive, even on the mountain you can get a pizza or spag. bol. for 7 euros. Coffees are 2.50 euros on average.
This area of Italy has fantastic ski opportunities, all the lifts are modern and the pistes really well maintained. The runs are mainly cruising and marked as reds and blues, although in some French resorts would probably be blues and greens with only a couple of blacks (more like reds)But you can ski for miles and miles and hardly ever the same piste twice.
