Just returned from a 1 week ski holiday with family and friends in the Val di Fassa. We stayed at the Al Sole Apartments in Canazei. We were a bit worried because there were no reviews anywhere, so here goes. If you are staying there I think you will be pleased with your choice. Apartments are new so everything is in good condition. We stayed in a apartment, but the studios were up to the same standard, (just didn't have the bedroom, they only had the pull down bed). We had a double room, (2 single mattresses on a double base) with a decent sized wardrobe that had shelf and hanging space, a couple of good size drawers and a safe. Lounge had a pull down bed that had a 5 foot mattress, (very comfortable according to my son) It was a proper comfortable bed, and not an uncomfortable bed settee type. Once it was made up, you can just put the straps over it and push it back into the wall. In the day its a large settee. There is also a good size wardrobe in the room. Dining room has a pine table and seating for 4-6. Kitchenette had a microwave, dishwasher, fridge, double hob and loads of crockery/cuttelry/storage space. Bathroom had a large shower, (no bath) toilet, bidet, sink, hairdryer, shaver point. The apartment block is quite big, but we thought it was really nice. Swimming pool was fine, not the biggest pool, but clean. Steam room was lovely after a hard days ski. Although we were self catering, breakfast was available at a cost, (never had it so can't comment) also, evening meals available in the pizzeria. Had a couple of them and they were very nice. Location is good. Crystal brochure says 8 mins from main gondola, 5-6 mins is more accurate. Ski lockers are heated in the ski room. We didn't use them, we booked lockers in Northland, opposite the gondola, so we could walk down in our normal boots and not carry any equipment. 10 Euro's for the week per locker. It just made it so much easier. If we had to carry the ski's etc back up to the Al Sole every night, it would have been hard work. Deposit has to be paid in cash. £150 or 150 euro's. returned after inspection at the end of holiday. Bedding and towels didn't get changed during the week, and the room was not cleaned, but that was expected because its self catering. Some of the other guests were on a B & B basis and that included room clean and towel change. Any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com and I will do my very best to answer them. This is my third time in Val di Fassa, but the first in Canazei. Enjoy the skiing in Canazei, it is brilliant for all levels of skier. Apres ski is a bit more expensive this year, 4 euro's for a pint and about 7 euro's for a pizza. Hope this is helpful.
