We had Caesar salad and a Pizza. The pizza was OK but the "Caesar salad" was comically bad - made up of iceberg lettuce, chicken, croutons and *potato cubes*, lacking parmesan cheese and any sign of real Caesar dressing.

Service was slow, atmosphere not great. Avoid.

Potato cubes. Sigh.

A mystery how this is rated best in town. Saved this for last evening, and every other restaurant we went to was way better. Recommended wine not close to standard. Lousy service. Don't go!

As you can see from Tripadvisor we are in the habit to replay to all the reviews, but in this case I do not think it is appropriate to do so.
We receive many compliments every day from our guest for our cuisine and our service but we are also prepared to listen to constructive and polite suggestions. The rudeness that you have shown towards the staff was unnecessary and disproportional to what occurred and we have apologized for.
Regards

We choose El PAel based on the rewievs and were really nicely surprised. The Restaurant was full and people were waiting for a Table...For the starter we had Beef tatar-they mixed it in front of you and beef carpaccio-both very tender and good.Barley Risotto and their famous Raviol were also delicious. At the end we took steak-probably were already full,as we couldnt eat the whole:)Host Roberto recommended us really good wine and you can feel he is giving himslef for this ostaria...But he is only one and the alone:(Defenitely, visit El PAel!

Roberto Anesi, a somm from Italy, has a wonderful restaurant right in the heart of Canazei. www.elpael.com We enjoyed delicious ravioli as well as a hearty barley risotto with delicious cheese! Carpaccio seems to very popular here, and we enjoyed one with Grantrentino cheese and green apple slices. Of course, we also had wine to complement our choices, as personally selected by Roberto. This is a cute restaurant with a good following - our friend Flavia, a local, accompanied us to dinner and seemed to know many of the people dining that night!

We were practically the only table in the restaurant not getting any attention what so ever by the sommelier... Only got some vague advices by the waiter... Why?
The food was good and the restaurant full, but the service was definetely not what we could expect.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review on our restaurant and on the quality of our food.
About the service, of course, I cannot agree with your impression but this is not an objective point of view.
I am sure I came to your table (you were 4 persons and you had a Teroldego) at the end of the meal to make sure that everything was ok after the advises our waiter Matteo.
You could have asked for me as written in my wine list "Feel free to ask for me at any time if you have questions about our wine selection or just want to chat and share your own passion for wine. It is my great pleasure to make sure that you will have a nice wine experience ad El Paèl Wine Restaurant in Canazei where I am always at your service!"
I hope you'll come to visit us your next time in Canazei and I will definitely be very glad to guide you through the wines of Trentino.
