“A lovely grand old lady”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

WE stopped here because of the good Trip Advisor reviews and they were not wrong. The hotel is in a great location in the middle of a wonderful city. As previous reviewers have indicated this city is a great stopping location for a number of attractions.

The beds are comfortable, the room is beautifully furnished and our room overlooked the Duomo which rang its bells early in the morning to wake us. Fantastic.

We left the car out the front and didn't have to worry about parking. AS with previous reviewer, we did have problems trying to find the hotel as some of the streets close after a certain time. I would suggest - get yourselves familiar on a map of where you have to go and don't rely on GPS alone.

I would recommend travelers also visit the FANTASTIC Santa Guila Museum which is a 10 min walk from the Vittoria. This museum takes you from Prehistoric times through the Roman era (complete the ruins which compare to Rome) to the medieval to the Lombardy. A MUST SEE is the Nun's Chapel which rivals the Sistine Chapel; and the astounding array of medieaval art. We spent nearly 3 hours there and that wasn't enough.

Dear ippigirl,

I agree with you about our fantastic museum Santa Giulia, that has recently been registered in the Unesco World Heritage List, which is a big honour for us. I think you have seen one of the best parts of our city.

Unfortunately the building site for the new metro causes some difficulties to reach our hotel, but in February they should finally be over!

Best regards

We decided to use Brescia as a base for travelling to Verona, Bergamo and Lake Garda and were really pleased we chose Vittoria as our base to do this. There's not a lot in the city to excite a traveller compared to other grand sights in the area, which may be a reason why this hotel was such good value for what it offered. The room was very spacious and the bed enormous and very comfortable. The same can be said for the bathroom. The furnishings were tasteful and had a grandeur of an earlier era - wooden floors and quality wood bed, desk and closets. The lobby, stairs and corridors all continued the same grand-hotel theme, although the attempt at modern art additions was a tad amateuristic. The staff were very friendly, but seemed overwhelmingly to be young trainees with not enough experience to assist with matters such as wifi not working. Parking was ideal - with a disk in the car right outside the hotel. Breakfast was below standard for a Five-Star hotel - limited selection, watered-down juice and treacle coffee. But not much can take away the wow-factor of the view of the cathedral from our room on the 3rd floor (front-side). All in all a strong recommendation.

we are on our honeymoon and what better way to be spoilt than by staying in this marvellous hotel.

the rooms are tastfully decorated spacious, imaculate and beds comfy!

location is central and surrounded by restaurants and great shopping. the hotel has parking right out front.

buffet breakfast has a nice selection and the staff are all friendly efficient and welcoming.

if driving make sure you familiarise yrself with the location and sometimes gps isnt helpful due to construction. ask the staff they really are a great help!

this hotel lives up to all the great reviews on trip advisor!

hope you enjoy yr stay as much as we have.

Everything about this hotel just oozes elegance and class. Cannot fault it. My room had a great view of the Duomo and castle and I spent a very happy time relaxing on the enormous bed with the window open listening to an accordion player giving an impromptu performance below in the portico opposite the hotel. Beautiful art deco building and the staff were very helpful and attentive without being stuffy. The tortelloni with sage and cheese at lunch was perfect and the breakfast very good too. If I had one complaint, it was the 'high definition' illuminated mirror in my bathroom, don't look too closely, it shows every wrinkle and blemish on your face!!

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the front on a higher floor, great views

Hotel Vittoria was without a doubt the highlight of our trip to Italy. We traveled a bit around Italy and stayed in various hotels and not one hotel came even close to what you find at Hotel Vittoria - Brescia. The staff was always smiling and very helpful (which was not the case in other hotels). Check-in went smooth and fast. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. I really cant find one bad thing to say. The old building itself gives the whole place a very grand and elegant feel. The hotel is in a good location and the whole family loved the breakfast buffet. We hope to return next year. All in all a great hotel full of charm.
