We stayed in a lake view room, older style but comfortable and quiet with fantastic views. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help with any questions we might have had. The owner Pietro is outgoing and helps to create a fun atmosphere. We ate well at the hotel's lake side restaurant on both of the nights that we stayed.
The rooms were showing their age but I quite liked the older style of the public areas and the reasonable price we paid compensated for it.

Room Tip: Choose a lake view room.

We chose Brenzone as it appeared to be a quiet village and this was confirmed. Hotel Brenzone is the main hotel, located next to the ferry landing stage giving excellent access to the other lake locations and there is a very good lakeside path for walking to other destinations. Hotel Brenzone comprises the main building and Villa del Lago in which our room was located and which is set back from the main frontage. Our room was located here which was slightly disappointing as the lake view is restricted on the South side by the main hotel building. Our room was very small, but adequate. There was no room to leave a case open other than to empty it and the single chair was a bit of a nuisance. The accommodation was nevertheless comfortable. The building is old and has the appearance of last being comprehensively refurbished 40-50 years ago however there is a planned refurbishment this winter.
The buffet breakfast was extensive and the 2 dinners we had were very good, on both occasions we had the locally caught fish. Whilst the hotel is not up to modern standards we were very happy and for the amount we paid considered it very good value.
If a quiet location with easy lake and road access to the many visit options in the area is what is required we can thoroughly recommend this hotel and if contemplating returning to Lake Garda would use it again without hesitation, though requesting a balcony room in the main hotel rather than the villa annex.

we had a lovely week at hotel brenzone, the staff were all amazingly friendly, the food was out of this world and the location right on top of the lake was stunning.
brenzone is a quite town, but has good bus and ferry service right outside the hotel. the rooms may have been a little outdated, but as we were out most days it did not matter at all to us, and they are having a major refurbishment for the 2013 season. we would definately return to this pretty hotel.

A friend and I stayed here for 5 nights after we found a deal including flights with BA on Expedia website. The staff were simply delightful the buffet breakfast delicious and the view was breath- taking. It was super that we could hire bikes and explore neighbouring towns too! Pietro, the owner is really friendly and helpful and never failed to put a smile on our face!

Although the hotel does have small rooms there are plans to make these bigger for summer 2013. I would defintely recommend this hotel for a relaxing and romantic get away!

We booked two rooms for four people and although we arrived after the restaurant had closed, they were willing to make whatever we wanted for us - a great start to the weekend!

The hotel is a family run business and it is run very well, if a little on the amateur side. But what they lacked in professionalism (I don't mean that as a negative), they certainly made up for with warmth, history and a wonderful first class restaurant!

The location is perfect. The rooms which look out to the lake boast unbelievable views. The hotel is right on the water front, as is it's restaurant. There is no pool but right outside are steps into the lake, which although cold, is extremely refreshing.

The main down side to this hotel is the poor quality of decoration, furniture and bed linen along with the lack of air conditioning in the rooms. Having stayed at many other places around the lake over the years, we were very surprised at this. It may be tolerable during 10 months of the year, but in July and August it is pretty stifling and uncomfortable. You could open the balcony doors if you wanted, and whilst waking up to the sound of the water was lovely, some members of our party were severely bitten during the night.

As I said, the furniture was pretty bad. It was well worn and definitely past it's best. Antique furniture wouldn't have been a problem - but this was just hand me down furniture. The walls were a mess and there is NO BATH! Before we booked we checked the amenities but quite frankly, either someone meant to deliberately mislead the customers, or it was not checked properly before publication. We have it in black and white on our confirmation that there is both air conditioning and a bath/shower combination. Have just a plain shower would have been fine but there is no shower as such - it's basically a tiny wet room, impossible to use without drenching the whole room and with very bad drainage (takes forever).

There IS wifi access but it only works downstairs in a very small, dark room which is full of old furniture you'd rather look at than sit on.

BUT. As a base, this place was lovely - friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful with information about the lake and surrounding area.

Brenzone itself is sheer perfection. A tiny harbour - mainly filled with local boats - with one bar and 4/5 restaurants. Peaceful, quiet and a real delight at the end of a busy day on/around the lake.

Oh, one other thing - as I said, we've been around the lake many times and most places speak either Italian or German, not English, but here, the family did speak English. Between us, our party speaks English, German, French and Spanish, so it wouldn't have been a problem for us, but I felt it worth pointing out.

Because of the rooms, I have given 3 stars. If there were better facilities in the bathrooms, and if the bedrooms were brought in to this century, along with the installation of air conditioning, I would have no problem giving the full 5 stars.

Room Tip: Rooms with a lake view are worth the extra cost.

Dear AliTweety,

first of all thank you for your review on Tripadvisor. We are very happy to read that you were satisfied with our service, the friendliness and the language skills but also with the restaurant and its cuisine. We are pleased to inform you that at the end of the season a hotel renovation is planned, since we are aware of our limitations and we want to offer the best to our guests. In addition to that, we note that this hotel offers 100 years of tradition and we are very proud of it. For this reason we decided to integrate into the structure a touch of history, placing antique furniture from 1800. As we have already informed you some work is to do, one of this is to decide if or whether keeping this line. You will be surprised by our delightful hotel in 2013. We look forward to welcoming you again!

We only spent one night here, but could have stayed for long!
Have read recent reviews from other visitors, all is already said. This place has a unique location, beautifully situated right on the lake.
We had a room facing the lake with our own balcony. Couldn't be better - sipping wine on the balcony while watching the sun set and then head down to the restaurant to be served delicious italian food.
The hotel is old-stylish, but somehow after just a short while it all just seems right for this place. And the family running the hotel and their staff are just super friendly! - They take service seriously!! Our little family would love to come back.
PS: the hotel have their own sunbeds right in front of the hotel and there is a wide stairway leading into the lake for swimming.

This is my fourth time at lake Garda and my second time at Hotel Brenzone and I would return next week if I could. The hotel has the best location possible .Brenzone is one of the few (if not the only) villages by the river whose lake promenade is not adjacent to the road and Hotel Brenzone is located right in the middle. It is a charming hotel, the perfect size, family run and Pietro and his family are extremely warm hearted and helpful, making sure you have everything you need. The breakfast encompasses a broad selection from cake, to cheese, fruit and eggs which you can enjoy every morning only a meter away from the lake taking in the most beautiful views. The hotel offers sun umbrellas and chairs and you can either stay in the spacious garden or lie right by the river. I would book directly with the Hotel who can also organise transport from Verona airport should you not rent a car. A recommendation for everyone who is looking for a relaxing and comfortable spot in one of the most scenic areas of the lake.
