“Perfect location with good accommodation and good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

We like to stay very near the slopes and this hotel is perfect for that. It's also very near the busier bars if like us you enjoy the après ski - whilst being positioned well so you don't get any unwanted noise etc if you need an early night.

The food was very good - we normally venture out for a few meals as half board is usually very average - but we didn't need to here. I'm a vegetarian and had a selection to choose from most nights. There is so much good food on offer that I normally selected a starter or a main - ensuring I saved room for the lovely desert!

The skiing was great both for me (skier - intermediate) and my hubby & friends (v good snowboarders). We were blessed with fantastic snow conditions. There are a few very flat blue runs that are hard work when crossing the resorts but the wide variety of reds makes up for this.

The service at the hotel was ok, the head waiter was excellent, the reception / bar staff a lot less friendly and helpful. The maids did a great job and were always very cheerful.

The room was big and well equipped, bed comfy and shower hot. Missed having a bath but other rooms did have one so you may be lucky. Walls are thin and you do hear a lot but this didn't bother us too much

Last thing I'd say is that if you're looking for good après ski / night life, bardonecchia isn't really the place. However, we think it's what you make of it and we had a few great nights in the bar at the bottom of the slopes with a lot of friendly people we met in resort

Just back from a week skiing staying at the Ca Fiore. Great hotel that ticks all the boxes,Clean, warm, friendly helpful staff and only 150 meters from the nearest lift. Our room was a good size and was clean and comfortable. only critisism was the TV very small and very few channels to chose from. The hotel has bags of character, a great resturant and the food is fantastic.

Highlights are definitely the outstanding food and friendly and helpful staff. The 4 course dinners are generous portions, fresh ingredients and very delicious Italian cooking. It is easily restaurant quality every night, would say equivalent to £30 meal in london.

The staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful.
The breakfast is a bit more basic with no cooked options but more than adequate. The filtered coffee is not great but a complimentary Capp or latte is available on request.

Jacuzzi and sauna are good with mountain views. The fitness machines are below average but you are here for ski so not a major let down.

Location is 5-10minute walk from nearest bus stop or lift.
Bedroom is adequately sized and equipped but no duvets are provided, just blankets and sheets. English channels include CNN and BBC.

Free wifi in the lobby 24 hours.
Reasonably priced bar.

In the basement handy ski storage.

For the price we paid, it has to be 5stars!!

Stayed here for a boys skiing trip but booked at last minute...worst snow in 15 seasons at resort although the jaffrau area,or as Simon from bournemouth called it "Chicken Jalfrezi"had good snow and plenty of it so i,d advise you to jump on the free bus and get up there.Anyway back to the hotel...excellent location just over the road from the campo smith area, and a 5 min walk to the bus stop...rooms ok if a little too hot in the nights, but the food in this place is absolutely amazing! In the evening dinner was basically 4 courses and the chef in my opinion and that of our Italian mate,Flavio, was superb...there was just so much quality food after a hard days skiing and i dont think there are many places which offer such fantastic value for money as the ca fiore...Anyhow for what its worth if you are planning a trip to Bardy remember its only 1300m,so you really need to bear this in mind when you go...as a seasoned skier i,d recommend the start of february,to give the best chance of good snow in Bardy and although the campo smith area is a good skiing area when all lifts are open, head for the jaffrau if you want the better stuff!if you are a rugby fan head to the "white and Green bar and restaurant"about 700 yds up the hill for superb friendly service and a rugby and sports mad bar owner...you wont be disappointed unlike the sports bar in bardonecchia run by Liam who thought it funny to switch over during the French/Ireland game, with just 15 mins left.. just so he could watch spurs ,his team, get hammered by mufc...he upset a lot of fans there,...well done mate as we all stayed away from your bar because of your attitude to your would be customers! His loss the White and Greens gain.

Room Tip: try and get a lower floor room...this is a very hot hotel and heat rises!!!!

Just back from a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Ca Fiore.
+ Great location opposite ski slopes.
Good sized, clean room with balcony
Excellent cuisine, especially 4 course dinner
Friendly helpful staff (thank you Daniel, Alessandra and Adrian)
Near free shuttle bus stop
Great spa and sauna area
Reasonably priced bar/ wines

- Not many
You are a bit far from the town centre, but would rather be close to the slopes
Someone wanted ski lockers but you can hire these over the road at Campo Smith, otherwise the boot room was fine (if slightly crowded)

Thoroughly recommend this hotel and reckon we chose well in preferring it to the more English Hotel Rive over the road,

Just had a fantastic week at the Ca Fiore Hotel in Bardonecchia. We stayed here two weeks ago and had a lovely week so thought we would try it again. We were really impressed by the evening meals which consisted of a range of starters including seafood, pasta or risotto dish starter, meat, fish or vegetarian main course and delicious puddings. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The hot tubs and the sauna are lovely for soothing sore muscles after a hard day's skiing. The breakfasts are simple and tasty. 6 of us stayed here for a week and couldn't fault it. Five star service and excellent value for money.
