We stayed in Hotel du Lac, Bardolino, quite by accident, as Verona was full!! We only needed one night at the start of our holiday, but afterwards wished we were staying the whole week there. The hotel is beautifully decorated, clean and the staff welcoming. Our room had a large double bed, a lake view and a little balcony. We had arrived too late to eat in the hotel, so we walked into Bardolino (5 minutes) and found many buzzing restaurants to choose from. We had a lovely meal and walked back again. Next morning, the breakfast was very good - we had booked a 'comfort double with American buffet breakfast' and I was expecting a muffin and a coffee. However it was the 'full monty'; eggs, bacon, sausage - the lot. It really set us up for our drive along the 'wine route' back to Verona. Hotel du Lac also has its own private 'beach' on the lake side with sun loungers on shingle all facing the water.. We will visit Bardolino again for a longer stay and would definately stay at Hotel du Lac.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with a 'comfort double' room.

Had a wonderful stay in this familiar leaded hotel. The room was comfortable for a family of 4, downstairs 2 beds and in the mezanine a king size bed.
Rich breakfast-buffet with the possibility to eat on the terrace. Dinner was 5 courses, with the choice for first and second plate.
Small pool but directly at the lake. Fitness and sauna for free.
Just internet could be better, 4 euros/hour and just in the lobby, and not always working. The boss promised it would be better in 2012 with connection in the rooms at a better price.

Just returned from bardolino lake garda italy, hotel very good, food excellent, staff very friendly and curtious. Be aware that if you choose half board the dining is on a formal dinining basis, you must choose your evening meal at breakfast. However this did not bother us in the least as you were given plenty of time to chooses. Trips to recommend are the lake tour a long day but worth it plenty to see and marvellous views. If you choose to visit Verona go on the local bus as we did but get an early bus if you leave after 10.00am you may get caught in the traffic going to gardaland and movieland itallys version of Disney but on much smaller scale of course. It was our first time in Bardolino and hopefully it wont be our last, we hope to return again. We were able to have an nice stroll out each evening after our meal into the town and believe me you will need it the meal is five! course and very good the desserts where delicious and plenty of choice. Drinks are a little pricey in the bars 4 euros for a medium beer and 4.50 for the local drink which i recommend aperol spritz, but dont try to shop around they are all the same price in all bars at least that way you can try different bar each eveining. The only down side of the holiday was that we had only booked a week we would have liked to stay longer. Also be aware it does rain because of the humidity but not for long you will notice that people stroll out on an evening with umbrellas in tow.

After a 10 hour delay at Bristol airport we finally arrived at Hotel Du Lac, Bardolino at midnight. We were greeted by a friendly & humourous Italian who made us feel welcome.
Summary:
Room - very clean & spacious
Staff - helpful & courteous
Food - very good (5 courses!)
Waiters/waitresses- extremely effiecient, helpful & welcoming. Head waiter Vito very funny & welcoming
View - Stunning view of Lake Garda
Entertainment - Only had entertainment on Sunday & Friday night but good

Overall, we would definitely go back! Very romantic location.

Room Tip: Unfortuntately, we had a room at the front opposie the garage which was a bit noisy

Thanks again to tripadvisor we have just arrived back from Hotel Du lac in bardolino.
Excellent Hotel in a perfect location on Lake Garda.Spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and 5 course evening meal.Nice room(110) with new bathroom.Good comfortable bed and very smart.
Staff are very pleasant and helpful.Pool is small but does the job.
Well equiped patio area with approx 50 sunbeds and just 20 feet to the lake where you can swim safely.
Located in a nice quiet area just 10 min stroll to the town centre.
Bike hire at the Hotel which was popular as traffic free paths to Garda and Lazise.
I would give this Hotel 10 out of 10 and recommend highly.

Room Tip: Rooms facing south are best, lake view and quiet. Some rooms face the main road and can be noisy.

Hotel Du Lac/Bellvue, Bardolino, Lake Garda.

Stayed at the Du Lac before but this time stayed in the Bellvue which is part of the same complex.

You have your own keys which open the gate into the Bellvue grounds, the door into the complex and your bedroom door. The same key does all 3 tasks.

All the rooms in the Bellvue are lake facing with a balcony. Ours was a large family room, twin beds pushed together and a sofa bed if more than 2 people in room. There was also a small table and 2 chairs.

On-suite with large bath/shower over, shower screen, sink, toilet and bidet. Bath robes and slippers are provided, also soap, shower cap, shampoo, shoe cleaner sponge and ear buds and nail file. Hair dryer in bathroom, but please note it is not very strong and really only a tube blowing warm air, so take your own.

Plenty of towels and changed regular, also large orange towel for swimming or laying on the sun loungers in the Du Lac.

Room was carpeted, lots of drawers for your clothes, mirrored sliding wardrobe with hangers, safe in side wardrobe, free of charge, fridge, there is a note to advise if your own food/drink is found in the fridge it will be removed. We only used it later in the day to cool wine to have a pre dinner drink on the balcony. We also took our own travel kettle as we like to have a coffee 1st thing in the morning and last on a night on the balcony.

The balcony had a table, 2 small chairs and a lounger chair.

Breakfast is taken in the Bellvue either outside in the garden or tables are set inside.

There is the usual continental breakfast with cheeses, meats etc, but also bacon, mushrooms, eggs, yogurts, jams, juices, tea & coffee.

You order your evening meal at breakfast, the evening meal is taken in the Du Lac and you sit to the same table each evening. Anything you order in the way of drinks is put against your room number and you settle your bill at the end of your stay.

Evening meal is 5 courses, if you can eat five, there is a salad bar which you help yourself to, then another 4 courses are waiter served.

The Du Lac also does a lunch time menu, the cokes were 2.5 euros, in Bardolino itself sometimes we paid as much as 4.5 euros.

The food was excellent and improved since we were there 6 years ago.

The hotel is right on the lake, you can hire bikes from the hotel, go swimming, a lot of poeple were swimming in the lake this year.

The weather was fantastic, 36 degrees one day and always over 30, no rain except through one night when we had a thunder and lightening storm, it was so humid even at 10 o'clock it was still 28 degrees.

We travelled with a 13 month old baby this year and although we were provided with a travel cot and high chair, the Du Lac does not cater for babies. Out little one struggled with the food, we tried the local chemist and supermarkets for baby food but was thin on the ground, he did snack and he drank lots.

I hope this feedback has been of some help, if you need any further info please contact me.

My sister and I stayed at this Hotel last august , sharing a double room on a half board basis. Most hotels, holiday flats or time shares ,no matter what the "star rating"have something that we can all "winge" about , myself included...........but on this occasion, threre isnt one thing about this Hotel that neither I ,nor my sister, could fault.
The room was larger than most doubles that I have previously stayed in........complete with sofa, coffee table, and nice white soft bath robes, plus, a brilliant shoe cabinet, preventing the"too" many pairs of shoes and sandals that we all take, being tucked under the bedside cabinets etc.

The food was lovely, from a massive buffet breakfast, with something for every taste.....to a beautiful five course evening meal (waiter service) of typical italian food, which was beautifuuly presented , complete with exellent service, under the ever watchful eye of the Head Waiter , in fact all of the staff......receptionists, porters and bar service, we found to be "genuinely" helpful and friendly.

This was our first visit to Italy.......and would definetly go again especially to lake Garda. The hotel was situated right on the edge of this stunning picturesque lake, even though the hotel had a small pool, some guests preferred to have a "dip" in the lake, but not for me Im afraid I need to know ,"what lies beneath".
There is a walkway all along the lake edge, and is so pleasent and relaxing to stroll
along in the evening to nearby resorts (1-2-3 miles depending how far you want to go, ther is little lakeside bars where you stop for a drink and" people watch", it is just so nice.
Should you want to go further afield..........and you must......the ferry is right on the doorstep, a little pricey but well worth it, it will take you to absolutely beautiful Sirmione a little further down the lake.....or up to the more mountainous region of Malcesne, with stunning lake views from the castle. There are lots of resorts around this huge lake, you can even do a full lake tour .....by ferry, once again probably a bit pricey. If you want to have a change , you can visit the bustling city of Verona with its lovely old buildings, the amphitheatre........and not forgetting Juliet's balcony plus lots of shops and cafes ....Verona is within easy reach, only about 45 minutes away in a local "bendy bus"
All in all we had a really smashing holiday, but , a holiday i would say, more suited to
folk from 30years upover.

"WINGES"........................................................Youv'e guessed..........NONE
Well I suppose by now you have realised ..............I LOVED THIS HOTEL, BARDOLINO and LAKE GARDA.

Room Tip: brochure price very pricey, try at last minute.
