This was our sixth visit and every time we have found this hotel a fantastic place to stay. The owners and staff are excellent.

We wouldn't think about staying anywhere else in Bardolino.

Room Tip: Whilst we have stayed in all parts of the hotel and all rooms have been excellent, a balcony room is...

This hotel is lovely, very friendly staff we were greeted in arrival with a welcome glass of Prosecco.
The photo's do not do it justice, there are 2 swimming pools one saltwater and one freshwater, there is an honesty bar so you can help yourself to drinks from the fridge near the pool and write down what you have....nice touch!
Our room had a fantastic view of the lake and a lovely balcony with table and chairs and sunlounger....nice to sit out in the evening.
Breakfast was buffet style with lot's of choice and omelette's etc could be ordered at the table.
The main town is a pleasant ten minute walk along the lake and there is a Lidl supermarket next door stocking everything you need.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a room on the fourth floor with a lake view and it was excellent....worth paying the extra fo...

My wife and I spent a week in this little gem of a hotel. It's family owned & operated, supported by excellent staff. Everything was just lovely in this part of Bardolino. We would return again in the future. Local restaurants are plentiful and very good. Bardolino is a very nice little town and very picturesque.Gardenia hotel is really quite special and fantastic value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake - lovely views ! 402 was perfect !

We recently stayed here for 10 days and had a most enjoyable time . We were greeted with a welcome complimentary drink and then shown personally to our room. It had a lovely lake view and was comfortable and clean. All the staff were very helpful recommending restaurants and helping my husband improve his Italian ! It was my birthday while we were there and presented me with a card and glass of wine by the pool at 11.30am. They also arranged for us to go to the arena in Verona to see Aida which was a spectactular once-in-a-lifetime experience . Bardolino was about a 15 minute walk away but it was lovely to stroll along the lake shore and once there you could visit a variety of shops and find refreshment at one of the many bars/restaurants. While we were there England played Italy in the European cup so there was some friendly rivalry ! We would definetely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view - well worth the extra !

My wife and i have just spent a week in this hotel. We chose this hotel because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. We travelled from Riva at the top of Lake Garda to this hotel by bus. the Riva to verona bus takes about 70 minutes and after Bardolino Bus station you get off at the next stop called Campagnola and the gardenia is straight across the road.
The hotel is set back rom the main road and consists of the hotel building itself with a small swimming pool to the front that can accommodate about 25 people and a separate building called the villa Charme which has a similar sized swimming pool. We had a room on the third floor with a front lake view and balcony. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome and throughout our stay the staff were so friendly and accommodating and wanted to help in any way they could. We were offered a welcome drink on arrival. This hotel does not provide evening meals but they recommended a number of restaurants in Bardolino, some of which they had arrangements for a discount of 10% for their guests. One of these restaurants we found particularly good was La Porta and I will write a separate review of this. There was a very good variety at breakfast and just a note that if you want eggs or omelettes you have to ask for them.
The main reason that i haven't given it a maximum rating is because the reception and bar area is quite small. It was clear to see that this is a very popular hotel with many of the guests annual regulars. While we were there a number of people came in "on spec" but the hotel was full so early booking is essential. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk into Bardolino either by the lakeside or by the road.

Room Tip: the best room s are the ones with a front lake view and balcony but early booking is essential

Stayed here for a week and it was a lovely place to stay. Rooms although not large were well equipped and spotlessly clean, bathroom was spacious and had good shower. Staff at this hotel went out of their way to look after you and were so friendly. Bardolino was an excellant place to stay on lake Garda, the town had lots of lovely restaurants and you have to try the ice cream it was delicious!

We stayed two nights at Hotel Gardenia in late June. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and even offered us a complimentary welcome drink. Our room had a nice balcony with a retractable awning which allowed you to sit out even in the heat of the day. Balcony had two lounge chairs with sun shades and a table and two chairs. There were also beautiful flowers in the planter on balcony. The room was a reasonable size and appeared to have been recently redone. The bathroom was quite tiny. Wi-Fi was not free - 5 Euro for the two days we were there and although there was a fridge in the room, they asked you to not use it for your personal food/drinks.

The pool was very crowded,so we did not use it, nor did we use to spa, so I can't comment on them.

The hotel was very busy when we were there, but the breakfast was continually restocked and the staff did make you a proper coffee in the morning, using the espresso machine in the bar. The buffet seemed kind of heavy on the sweets and not so much on the savory - lots of cakes, which were delicious and I really enjoyed. It's a vacation - have cake for breakfast. There was also prosecco if you desired it. They also made eggs to order. I had a delicious plate of eggs with ham and cheese.

The bar/lobby area was very busy at night and quite noisy, but our room remained quiet.

The only real drawback to this property is its location. You are about a fifteen to twenty minute walk into the town proper. There is a lakeside stroll, so the walk isn't unpleasant, but it is on the long side.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends or family, with the caveat that there is a bit of a location issue.
