La Serra Holiday Village & Beach Resort
Reviewed August 12, 2012

I recently stayed at La Serra and found the area to be very beautiful, set in a pine forest. The apartments are clean and spacious with all the facilities that you would normally expect and most are near to the beach. The beach is long, sandy and clean and the shallow sea is perfect for swimming and playing in. The animation team 'perform' every night and are exceptionally good at keeping everyone entertained. If you have children, there is also a good playground and tennis, netball and volleyball courts for older children, all on site. Both freshwater swimming pools are a good size. I found all of the staff to be most helpful and charming.

The on site restaurant was adequate, although in my opinion, not cordon bleu if you are looking for that. However, there are other restaurants within walking distance. Overall, I would definitely visit again next year.

Room Tip: Request an apartment near to the beach

Advantages: clean and warm sea; very good sandy beach; pine wood which gives great fresh air and coolness; very nice and professional animation team (especially for kids from 4 to 12 years old) and very helpful reception team; supermarket close to the entrance of La Serra.

Disadvantages: very bad service in the restaurant - if you are very hungry choose some other place; very noisy and loud music till midnight everyday; swimming pools are closed at 7 p.m.

Room Tip: If you want to be closer to sea and don't want to have loud music till midnight try to choose Ma...

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your positive comments about our location, and the animation and reception teams. I will pass these on to the respective employees, which will be very motivating for them.

I am sorry to read that there were some areas that you found disappointing, and I apologise that we did not live up to your expectations.

We are aware that there have been some restaurant service challenges this year, and assure you that we are working to resolve these.

In respect of the loud music, it is always a challenge to strike a balance between guests who would like to be entertained and those who would prefer peace and quiet. I will certainly monitor the volume level more closely in the future.

The swimming traditionally closes at 7 p.m. on the basis that families are getting ready for dinner around this time, and we are preparing for the evening entertainment. However, I will review this with my team, and determine the scope for extending the closing time.

Thank you very much for your feedback, which I genuinely appreciate and value.

I will start by saying that we've spent holidays in La Serrra first time in 1996, and 9 times after. It is a great place, cozy bungalows, which are clean, and the beach has always been wonderful and incredibly clean and a good restaurant with good food and service.

I must say this year we got a shock, quite frankly, the restaurant was terrible, the first day we waited 1 hour to be served, and a half to get our food, which could be eaten, but it was not good. The second day we waited again for a long time and we got a wine that tastes like vinegar, but we got a new one. The next day they had forgotten our food, so we waited half an hour again. Another day we got cold food.

The waiters are incredibly insecure and do not have much control on it. People are waiting for a long time to come in to eat, because the waiters do not clear the tables when people are going.
There was always in control of it when the old owner had the restaurant. I would say that it is a great loss to La Serra that they have chosen to change the old restaurant owner out ,because they were incredible professional. I do not think about what is happening in August. It is incredibly sad because it has always been a nice restaurant.

The beach has always been nice, but this year it was very dirty, I know that the beach staff have nothing to do with it,they do their best, they try to take the worst, but they do not have a machine for it, so it is not so easy, but it is the company that must come to clean the beach with a machine that forgets to come to clean. In the 14 days we've been there, the beach was not cleaned. We paid 70 euro for the first week and 105 the second week to get to the beach, then it should also be cleaned. If nothing is done about this, it will look like a dump for august.

It is important on a vacation to a beach and the restaurant is okay, because it is an important element of a holiday.
Would like to come again next year if it gets good again.

Sincerely
LC

Dear Guest,

I am naturally very disappointed to read your review of your experience at La Serra this year, especially as you have enjoyed so many good vacations with us over the years. I entirely agree with you about the importance of the beach and restaurant for a summer holiday.

We have worked hard this season to upgrade the physical property and introduce new services. This has included changing the restaurant and beach management contracts. Sometimes change works well, and sometimes it takes time to test new approaches, and refine them. However, I appreciate that we haven’t got everything right yet, and I’m sorry I did not have the opportunity to speak to you in person when you were here, so that we might have addressed these areas quickly for you.

The beach management have all the equipment they require and the usual high standards for cleanliness are back in place. In respect of the restaurant we are working to resolve service issues with the new management in their first year of operation.

Please accept my sincere apologies for our service failings during your vacation. We are committed to making La Serra the best touristic village of its type in the Naples region, and I do hope you will give us the opportunity to prove this to you in the future.

If you want a peacuful and relaxing holiday this coud be the place. You live in appartments in tthe pinewoods and it is really relaxing with the sea nearby. Although it is a nice place the houses could be cleaner. The beds are very uncomfortable too, but still the village of La Serra works as a relaxing holiday with your family. There is a restaurant in the village of La Serra and they have quite good food, but don't go for the pasta evening it's not worth the money. Thre are a few restaurants nearby too and they serve very good Italian food.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments about La Serra, and I am pleased to know that you consider us a good destination for a relaxing family vacation.

Your feedback on the comfort of the beds is very useful for the preparation of next year’s budget, although, of course, I am sorry that you found them uncomfortable. The restaurant is currently under new management this season, and I have made them aware of your feedback on the pasta evening. I am confident that this will improve.

I hope that you will come and stay with us again, so that we might have an opportunity to make the vacation experience even better for you.
