“Cream on the way”
Review of Latteria Marini

Latteria Marini
Ranked #63 of 256 Restaurants in Ascoli Piceno
Price range: $1 - $6
Description: Latteria Marini was founded by Giuseppe Marini in the 20's in Rua della Seta and it has been, for lots of years, a centre to collect and distribute milk. Yet at that times, the production and the selling of whipped cream, has represented a distinctive element for the shop, and soon they started even to produce yogurt. Then, in 1933, they moved the shop in the near Piazza Roma, and, from that moment, the Latteria assumed the role of café and it becomes a gathering place, where to taste coffee, hot chocolate and maritozzi, an Italian typical sweet bread, filled with whipped cream. Today, as yesterday, the shop is still owned by the Marini's family and this contributes to make this place part of the story of the city of Ascoli Piceno.

Whenever I come in this cafè, i feel more than satisfied by the special product, i.e. the cream! Taste it to believe it!

Historical bar in the centre of Ascoli, with the best milk product! The inside is quite small but it's perfect for couples. An ideal place for a breakfast or a snack.

Lots of history here. Just look at the yogurt machine from the 30s. Friendly, and with excellent coffee. In the center of town.

The title says it all really - this was a chance drop in as we were feeling thirsty and we were passing, the two people behind the counter were friendly and helpful with my very limited Italian and the drinks (we didn't order food) were very nice. My daughter especially liked the yogurt and my son the deliciously thick hot chocolate.

A place we would happily go back to if we re-visited Ascoli Piceno.

I went there with my girlfriend and was really surprised by the charming, nice and beautiful coffee in the center of Ascoli Piceno.

I have to admit, that we only took a homemade Ice Tea (TOP!), a Coffee Ginseng (TOP!), a Croissant and a homemade Yoghurt (TOP!)...There were much more things I would have taken if I wouldn't have been so full from the day before.

The place is not so big and the decoration inside is the only thing which could be improved a little bit. But that has nothing to do with the excellent service and things what you get there.

I come back soon :)
