“2 different rooms in great town”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel with our 2 year old daughter and had a great time in this beautiful town. We booked for 3 nights in the Corte 1 apartment which is in the block adjoining the hotel and then 2 nights in the big suite in the main hotel.

Pros :-

- Very kind staff who went out of their way to help and were very sweet with our daughter. The manageress babysat her twice and was great.

- Hotel has very nice atmosphere with peaceful and nicely decorated main rooms.

- Main suite in the hotel is stunning. It's on two levels (with a bathroom on each) and you can see the quality of the materials used everywhere. Absolutely first class accommodation and great aircon. Not cheap at 250 euros a night especially in a town that is not touristy at all but probably worth it.

- Amazing location, about a 5 minute walk from Piazza del Popolo.

Cons :-

- The apartment in the annex.

The annex itself is essentially an apartment block which seems to have a few hotel apartments in it but not sure if there are others living there. The main lobby is dark and gloomy as are the stairwells. The apartment itself was massive but was fairly sparse in furniture. The main room was huge but the sofa wasn't very comfy and the TV for some reason was in the much smaller bedroom. Bathroom was OK but very poorly finished and equipped compared to the bathrooms in the suite of the main hotel.

The main room was boiling and the aircon was fairly useless. Bedroom was nice and cool.

Cleanliness wasn't great - it just felt as though the cleaners hadn't really bothered to properly clean the floors and the wardrobes in the living room were very dusty.

We had paid extra each of the 3 days to be able to use the kitchen in the apartment. While there was a good amount of kitchen equipment I did find it rather cheeky that in spite of paying extra for the kitchen they hadn't provided us with even the tiniest basics for kitchen use (oil, salt, milk...). Also when we used the oven and the grill we blew a fuse so presumably the apartment can't really cope with the power.

- Breakfast. A lovely room and nice coffee but very poor spread of food, especially savoury. Appreciated that this is common in Italy.

So overall a great hotel but I would not really recommend the annex, especially not in the heat. The contrast with the rest of the hotel is extraordinary and that doesn't come across on the website or in other reviews.

Room Tip: Avoid the annex.

Dissapointed although the hotel information stated that sky television was available , on arrival we learned that it wasnt installed. The service of Giovanna was amazing and the hotel situation incredible, and the receptionist wrang Round locally for Mr P so he could watch the Men's Wimbledon final , it did leave him with a little apprehension as this is the reason why he had booked the hotel. I who was not particular about the Tennis found it all 5 star & the breakfast in the conservatory exactly what I expected of Italy...

With out a reservation and the daylight running out we found the Residenza 100 Torri. The staff were wonderful and the location in the historical center of Ascoli Piceno is great. This is a beautiful town with a wonderful historical center. The hotel offered very modern and nicely decorated rooms with a nice breakfast and the staff helped us with a very nice restaurant reservation. It has a very romantic feel.

Two great discoveries: Ascoli Piceno AND Hotel Residenza 100 Torri, both found on a one-month tour of some less touristy but charming European spots.

Ascoli was virtually tourist-free and had many surprises from the fotrtress park to the wonderful Caffe Meletti to the large public squares. And, of course, it was conveniently located to many of the Marche region’s treasures. It quickly felt like home.

Yes, Residenza 100 Torri was hard to find the first time, but locals, including a policeman, were quite helpful. The policeman even saluted us every time we saw him afterward on the street.

The hotel is a work of art in every way, including the restoration details, artwork, lighting and decor. Everything was classy and elegant but not intimidating, stuffy or fake in any way. Breakfast, as was the entire hotel, was fit for a magazine shoot. Hospitality from the owner and staff was 6 star.

We are former owners of a large landmark New England inn, and have high expectations. This was absolutely our best lodging experience while in Europe.

What a terrific find in Ascoli - once you find it, that is. Part of the fun for us was trying to follow the small hotel signs posted along the way and getting caught - nearly trapped - in a narrow dead-end alley from which we had to slowly back out. But the challenge of locating the 100 Torri was worth it, as the hotel is sophisticated yet warm, traditional but with all the amenities, well-located and with a friendly and helpful staff. When we made the reservation many months ago we requested a particular room (one with painted medallions on the headboard shown on website), and that's what we got. It was quiet, restful, bathroom was clean and very up to date. Can highly recommmend the Cento Torri as a base to tour Le Marche and nearby Abruzzo.

As others have mentioned, it can be challenging to find the hotel. Even with a GPS do not be surprised if you have to make a second try to find it, and, yes, you are meant to drive down that very narrow street! We took advantage of the courtyard parking, and spent our two days enjoying this great town. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are very private. The breakfast was very nice, and eggs were available on request. It was very easy to walk through the whole town from this central location.
