This place has a great ambience, even though being a Wednesday lunchtime, it was quiet with only one other table occupied. However, the layout of the restaurant is such that with dining areas being stylishly sectioned (plus a great outside space that must be great in the summer), it didn't feel empty. The decor is a mix of contemporary and traditional and has a really warm feel about the place. The "stairway to heaven" of the wine is a nice quirky touch.
We arrived a little early without a reservation and was asked if we would mind coming back in 20 minutes or so... and we are so glad we did. The food was outstanding and it made a great change to have dishes where some thought had gone into their creation, rather than just turning out the standard fayre that one finds in so many tradtional Italian restaurants. The desserts were also well presented and delicious. The service was attentive and informative.
All in all a fabulous lunch and we will definitely go back and this place will be on or list of recommended places to eat for our guests when they visit Ascoli Piceno.
