“Great location, good food, but dining experience needs enhancing”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We were really looking forward to this place but in truth were slightly disappointed. The form is that you pay €35 and receive a set dinner consisiting of a huge number of dishes. The antipasti was excellent, all of it delicious and a lovely range (cold meats, omelette, baked peppers/aubergine, cheese toasted courgettes, ricotta with local honey etc).

The primis were a bit of a disappointment to me. The gnocchi, in the gnocchi in tomato sauce, was lovely but the sauce lacked substance. The tomato sauce, in the tomato sauce and ravioli, was much better but the sweet lemon filling in the ravioli was just too much. It was too sweet.

The secondi should have been superb but in reality it was just pretty good. Suckling pig, a speciality of the area. It was a little dry and not seasoned sufficiently. My girlfriend disagreed with me until 2 nights later we had the same dish at another agriturismo (Sa Cressia Ezza) which was mind bogglingly good. Another level altogether.

The semifreddo desert was ok although a little uninteresting, and the wine was a bit on the rough side unfortunately. We didn't expect it to be excellent but actually after a glass or two we found we didn't want any more.

In terms of the venue itself, this was a disappointment. The views from the car park are wonderful and the building looks welcoming but once inside it's very dull and dingy with little or no windows/natural light. Small enhancements such as candles on the tables would have made a real difference.

The staff were great though and as an overall experience it was good.

I would recommend coming here but not over Sa Crescia Ezza agriturismo (found a mile south of Berchiddeddu on the SP79 just before you enter Sa Castanza). This was by far our best agriturismo experience and the cheapest at just €30.

“Quality, variety, very reasonable bill”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Suggested by a local friend. We called to book a table. Tried on Monday 24.06.2013. Nice place in the middle of nowhere. While waiting for a menu, the waiter smiled at us and started to bring food at our table. Within 20 minutes, we were offered more than 10 starters, some of them excellent, most of them very good. We were told that there is no menu. This is basically an all-you-can eat restaurant: make sure you are ready to try a lot of food while visiting ! Later, we were offered 4 different pasta dishes: we liked all of them with no reserves. Finally the main dish, baby pork cooked to perfection. Desserts, coffees and a glass of mirto completed our experience.
I have little to say. This place is awesome: food is enjoyable and varied, portions are generous. We paid EURO 35 each of us, unlimited table wine and water included.
Sincerely recommended and great value. Again: if you plan to try this restaurant, make sure you call ahead to book a table. It is nearly always packed.

Me & my boyfriend decided to have dinner there, after all the good recommandations we could read here... And we must say we absolutely LOVED this place. All conditions reunited to spend a perfect moment: authenticity, simplicity, generosity....the food is gorgeous, from the 7 or 8 different antipastis (you need to like cheese & veggies), the 3 pasta courses (the raviolis are succulent) to the porceddu...and dessert if you still can eat something at this stage of the dinner! Price is absolutely fair (35€ wine included). For us, the best restaurant of in the area.

“Attention not to explode :-)”
Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

We decided to go this summer in this agriturismo after reading the positive reviews. It takes a wile to reach it, about 30 min from portocervo but it definitely worth the drive.
I hardly entered a better agriturismo in 32 years of my life in italy and probably never found a restaurant with a better price to value anywhere else in the world.
The menu is fixed, you just need to sit and eat....and it costs 35 euro including wine and water. Once it starts just enjoy and pay attention not to explode. You need to be very very very hungry as the quantity is really amazing.
The quality of the food is very high and everything local, typical and very tasty. Be sure you like meat and cheese, not suitable for vegetarians :-)
The house wine is also ok, it's a pity they don't offer a choice of wine bottles for extra price, i would have been happy to add a good wine with such a great dinner.

“Pace Yourself!”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

We went with a group of 18 and had a blast! 15 plates of amazing food, 20 different items, plus cappuccino followed by shots of grappa or mirto. We were all feeling very pleasantly plump afterwards! It was nearing the end of the season, so the outdoor patio was closed and we sat indoors. Sitting outside would have been the icing on the cake!
