“a lucky find in Arezzo”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

We stayed 4 nights at this B&B it was great, while a bit out of town it was easy to get to by taxi , and also our fantastic hostess Cinzia drove us a couple of times into Arezzo
Cinzia is awesome she is amazingly friendly, knowledgable of her town Arezzo and the areas around and just incredibly welcoming
And most importantly a great cook , her breakfasts were amazing and the variety and style could not be faulted.
We also loved the town of Arezzo and had a great day looking at all the historical sites and churches and sampling the food and the wine in the town
Arezzo is central to a lot of great towns in Tuscany so we found it a ideal location
But most importantly Arezzo had Cinzia and her great B&B !

We had planned a week's trip to Tuscany region of Italy, and had the pleasure of staying with Cinzia for the entire stay. I say "Cinzia" because you will forget the name of the B&B, because you will feel like like you are staying with your favorite family. The property is very nice, but the best part of this B&B is Cinzia, as she represents the best of Tuscany. She is a very gracious and outgoing, she has all the knowledge on places to go and things to do, so if you want to play your travel by ear, she makes it easy to make good decisions. Cinzia prepares delicious breakfasts, with many outstanding items on a varied menu each morning, each item fresh and from the region, so you start your day HAPPY, HAPPY! Then, her evening restaurant recommendations were spot on, with meals so memorable we are still talking about them. Very reasonably priced, and the B&B is very reasonable. I booked this location on the 100% 5 star rating, and I concur, this gave us the best family vacation enjoyment we can recall. Fantastic...it is the people of Italy that make the country special, and you will get the best of that with Cinzia.

We spent 3 nights in Cinzia´s BB during our 16 days trip to Tuscany. The house is very nice and the rooms are nicely decorated. Cinzia was the warmest host we met in Tuscany and we will never forget her breakfast. She was baking several cakes (sweet and salted) every day just for us. Not talking about great cheese, jams, salami....Cinzia knows a lot about Arezzo and the surrounding area so do not warry about your program. Thank you Cinzia for your hospitality.

I can see why this is rated so highly. The hosts (Cinzia and Giorgio) are among the nicest people that my wife, daughter and I will ever meet. To say that they looked after us is a huge understatement. My daughter loved Cinzia! We will hold their hospitality very dear to us for a long time.

As for the B&B, it dates back 1000 years, but it has a wonderful balance of history and modern design. The rooms are clean and simple and the breakfast is EASILY the best i have had anywhere in Europe. All produce is sourced locally and Cinzia makes amazing cakes each and every morning! I think i ate 2kgs of Pancetta every morning, it was that good.

You should go to Arrezzo. It’s a great town that hasn’t been overrun with tourists yet. And this B&B comes highly recommended by my family!!

Room Tip: The one with the courtyard looked the best.

Cinzia and Giorgio were the most wonderful, thoughtful and accommodating hosts. Our time in Arezzo began with Cinzia personally picking us up from the train station and driving us to the B&B. The B&B is located about a 10 minute drive from downtown; however, we were allowed to borrow the B&B's bicycles and could ride into town (mostly on bike trails) within 45 minutes.
The B&B itself is located on a peaceful river and surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and a homemade bird sanctuary. The room and bathroom that we occupied were both immaculately clean and were made up each morning while we ate breakfast.
The highlight of our stay was Cinzia's dreamy breakfasts- homemade tarts, cakes and breads; fresh cheese and meat platters; homemade fruit jams; and the best cappuccino in Italy. Not to mention the delight of Cinzia's company while we ate and the excellent sightseeing advice that she provided to us each day.
Next time I am in Italy, La Chiusa dei Monaci will be my first stop!

Tucked away by a stream just outside beautiful Arezzo, Chiusa dei Monaci is a pretty B&B that makes for a perfect restful base in this area of Tuscany. Moreover, Cinzia's warmth and generosity went well beyond her unforgettable sumptuous home-made breakfast treats. I dream of returning some day and I am sure I will!

I chose this title because a lot of my short stay at this b&b (we stayed only one night) made me think about the movie, of course in a positive way! In fact Cinzia knows everything about Prada, since she has worked for its boss.
Back to the b&b:

1) The hostess Cinzia is lovely and caring (the other comments say already everything)
2) Breakfast was very good with fantastic local products and we got some cake slices as snack for the day
3) The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable, same for the bathroom, and the atmosphere in the house makes you feel at home
4) The location a bit outside of Arezzo in the fields is calm and relaxing
5) Finally the house, a beautifully restored old mill with water running under it.

If you plan on visiting Arezzo and the neighbourhood I would not know any better place.
