We went for lunch, after looking at the local produce on offer at their delicatessen counter. Unfortunately, we were disappointed, although there was a nice anti-pasti, to start. Mains, were pretty predictable, slightly cold, due to their being only one waitress !!! The two dining rooms became very busy and noisy, with locals, which is usually a good sign, but not for us. Just average and much better options, abound in Tuscany.

Really, a great experience.

The place is a bit strange, completely informal, at the ground floor there is a "gastronomia" (a food shop), you choose the meals and go upstairs, where you'll find a couple of rooms with tables (no more than 20-25 seats); you can choose usual service at the table if you prefer.

We were in two and had:
- An appetizer with mixed local ham, salami and cheese; it was supposed to be one dish to be shared in two but... it was a lot of stuff; excellent.
- A "cinta senese" pork fillet, which was just perfect
- A roasted guinea fowl, very very good
- A side dish of spinach
- Another side dish of mixed vegetables
- A dessert
- Half liter of wine, plus a glass
- Two coffess
... all toghether... as little as 56 euros; and, again, everything was very good.

From one of the rooms there is a view on the S. Francesco church, the personnel is very kind and warm... well.. if I were living in Arezzo I would probably be eating here every day.

At midday you can even have just a sandwitch on-the -go.

Totally recommended.

I cannot imagine a better place to pause for lunch during a visit to this beautiful Tuscan city, rich of treasures of art and architecture.
The restaurant is at the first floor of a "delicatessen" shop located in one of the main squares of the historic city centre. The rules of the game are unusual but very simple: you stop at the shop and you speak to one of the shop assistants signalling that you wish to eat at the first floor. He (or she) would talk you through the menu of the day, at which point you make your choice. What is interesting is that you can also choose from the delicatessen that are there for sale to external customers, which include an ample selection of fresh pasta!
We opted for the "fresh pasta" option: we chose the pasta and how we wanted it cooked (the staff would give you suggestions as to the sauces).
We then climbed to the first floor, where the actual restaurant is. The decor is simple and unpretentious, but it is full of good taste. We were welcomed by a nice young lady that took our orders for drinks and other side dishes.
Everything was delicious and the price was extremely acceptable. Highly recommendable.
