“Welcome surprise”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

You are seated under the arcades with a splendid view on Piazza Grande right in the "centro storico" of beautiful Arezzo. You are offered a spumante without asking, and a lot of amuse-bouches are served between the dishes. The food is elaborate, good quality, the wine card is impressive, and not too expensive. Service was friendly, although a bit slow - which is not an issue for tourists with plenty of time - and not always accurate. But overall we were very pleased to find so easily such a good and honest ristorante in such a great location.

“under the Copernican clock where vegetarians can...”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

I had lunch here with three friends, one of whom was a traveling strict vegetarian on holidays in tuscany ...

Now, Tuscany is wonderful for meat; roast meat, hams. sausage, salami, grilled meat, meet meat, birds, bees and bison, but vegetarians need a different kitchen. Although many famous regional dishes are vegetarian (think of ribollita, panzanella, truffled pasta and etc) these are without design as vegetarian, apparently.

Nothing is taken for granted here. The very mention of the word brought the server out in a show of great excitement. We ended up with an antipasti plate of incredible sophistication.

Under the famous Pre-Copernican town clock where earth is at the centre of the solar system vegetarians are centre stage too. thank you Ristorante Logge Vasari!

Oh, by the way, this omnivore ate very well too!

The al fresco tables are under the stone barrel vaults arcade of so Piazza Grande, just lovely, so reminiscent of Bologna (only without all the fuss.)

Terrific. Ready for the antique shops now...

“Eat at this place.”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

After sunday lunch in the nextdoor restaurant "Lancia D'Oro" (also reviewed by me) We wanted immediatly to make a reservation for dinner. Because this restarant was closed for dinner they made a reservation in "Logge Vasari" for us, wich has the same owner.
When we came for dinner that evening, we started with a free glass of bubbly. During the whole meal, the extras kept coming between courses. However, even without all the extras it was the perfect dinner to end a warm september sunday.
The food was absolutely delicious; I can say the best during our whole 12 day trip. It may not be surprising, that it isn't the cheapest place to eat in Italy, but it is worth every euro.

“Outstanding Surprise”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

It was late , we were tired , we were ungry , and this restaurant was open . Not really good reasons to have chosen this place , but what an outstanding surprise ! A welcome drink is offered as soon as you sit down under the beautiful loggia on the Piazza Grande , the main architectural site of Arezzo . Some "amuse-bouches" and other small side dishes are served with every single plate you order . Food is excellent , one of the best we had during our 2 weeks stay in Tuscany . You may think that this sounds like a pricy tourist trap . It is not . Prices are very reasonable , and locals seem to love the place . Very friendly service .
