After the Piero della Francesca frescoes stroll into the old town for a great lunch with the locals. Lots of locals good local cooking and good value. Highly recommended.

“We went back for every meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2013

We came across this restaurant on our first night in Arezzo, but because I had left behind my Italian-English dictionary, I wasn't game enough to risk not knowing what I was ordering. WHAT A MISTAKE! We went back the next day for lunch and were taken upstairs. As we passed tables already full downstairs we basically ordered by looking at what other people were eating. We had such a great meal, we headed back there for dinner that night (despite the fact we barely had room for anything else, being still full from lunch), and we wanted our last meal to be from there as well - so we headed back the next day again. The food was fantastic real Tuscan home-cooking. Service was fab and by our third visit we were being treated like family! And we need not have worried about not understanding the menu, staff were happy to oblige with English, recommendations, and complimentary limoncello! Some of our best meals of the trip were had here.

“Terrific local place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

The food was terrific and very reasonably priced. The service was very good, atmosphere great and the whole evening was lots of fun. There were many locals there - they went upstairs - so we knew it was good food and very authentic. Would recommend it highly.

“Lovely, typical Italian bistro. Patient staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Great atmosphere, full of a mix of tourists and locals. Small plates of food arrive quickly straight from the kitchen, excellent quality. Staff help translate the very local menu including truffles, wild boar (many different styles) and normal pasta. All tasty, kids loved it (pasta) and the boar (chops) were excellent. Roast veg and courgette (zucchini) carpaccio lovely. We have booked to return!
House white and house Chianti very good (and large glass also!)

“Not a pleasant experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

Does the Michelin red guide work differently in Italy?  On the evidence of this meal it must as the cooking was frankly grim. The antipasta was fair and one mushroom on toast was superb. The rest of the meal was dreadful. My sausages were not good but my wife's duck awful. It had been held so long and probably warmed a few times that it was impossible to tell wether or not I was supposed to be confit or dried or roast. The accompanying roast potatoes were broken left overs. The house wine was also poor. Not a good experience in any respect. We were glad to leave. Never to return.
