We stayed there for the New Year 2013 and had a very good time. Room was clean, a bit small, but for this money more than OK: Location is very good and you basically don't need your car at all. There is also a bus stop across the street if you want to go to Marmolada... Breakfast is good and overall we were more than happy with it.

Stayed here for 4 nights in January 2009 on a long ski weekend. Excellent value for money (we paid 40euro pppn B&B) and location is excellent if you are visiting to ski. Wouldn't hesitate recommending it. Rooms clean, service friendly. Good basic continental breakfast and a bar for the evenings, one of the best in Alleghe. Serves it's own beer brewed in a microbrewery on site. Fine ale and goes down well after a hard day on the slopes (and it was cheap too!). If you're into ice hockey, Alleghe play at the rink just across the car park. Alleghe itself is fairly quiet, but there are a few bars and restaurants / pizzerias close to hotel to get food. Garni Esperia itself sells a kind of Rustic bar menu. We had pork shanks and fries one night which were very nice. If you like a tipple, the local grappas are a must. Surprisingly very smooth, look out for one made with fenel.

A little about the skiing. We were looking for a short break ski destination and Alleghe ticks all the boxes. The dolomites are a stunningly beautiful area. Alleghe was an easy 2 hour drive up from Venice Marco Polo airport. The local Civetta slopes (80km of pistes) are good for a warm up and TBH if you're a beginner or early intermediate would do you for a whole week. Lift and ticket office is just across from Garni Esperia. Ski rental shops next door. Cheapest I've ever come across for half decent kit ... four days skis and poles (took own boots) 32euro. We got Dolomiti superski passes which opens up all Dolomiti skiing. Free bus stop is very close to Garni Esperia. Malga Ciapela is only 15 mins up the valley and gives you access to immense Sella Ronda area. And this access point has some of the best skiing. Cable car up to Marmolada glacier will give you access into Arabba and onto the endless kms of the Sella Ronda. Will be back sometime in future as four days was nowhere near enough to do area justice. Will stay at Garni Esperia again too. Fantastic experience all round!
