Have stayed here twice on separate trips. Extremely friendly and helpful staff who know the town, can recommend restaurants, etc. Wonderful breakfast. Most (if not all) rooms have a nice balcony with A/C. If you're staying on a Friday night, the Saturday morning farmer's market is only a block away. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Located in the impossibly beautiful and charming city centre of Alba, the Palazzo Finati is an exceptional hotel. The rooms are individual- and lovely (even the ceilings- be sure to look up!). The staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is superlative. And the place is so quiet you can't believe you are in city centre. Even the rates are reasonable. You won't want to leave.

This is a very small hotel, with less than a dozen rooms. The rooms even have names instead of numbers. Very comfortable and modern, without being sterile. It was interesting how many times we walked back to the hotel and found someone looking at the flowers in the hotel's front window. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff remembered what we wanted to drink after the first day, which I found impressive. There is no night staff, but you have a number to call and the key to the back door. The one thing I have to note is that the bathrooms were very small, especially the shower. We're small people and I couldn't imagine someone who was, say, 6 foot 4 and 250 lbs.being able to even get into the shower. Everywhere we went, the local people always were impressed when we told them that we were staying at Palazzo Finati, which speaks well of their reputation

We stayed here with Italian friends as a central location to explore the Piedmont wine country. Head south from Alba and you will enter spectacularly gorgeous scenery with hill after hill covered in vineyards and stone wineries. The barolo wines we sampled were also spectacular, but that's another story.
Palazzo Finati is an old classic Italian home converted to a small boutique hotel where the owners occupy the top floor. Old but modernized rooms and a superb breakfast as well as a great old town location for strolling the streets of Alba make it the perfect location for our needs. Just be aware that it's very well disguised - our GPS got us to within a building of it but we still had to ask where it was because there is only a small sign on the building. Also ask for reserved parking - they only have two spots and charge 5 euro for a spot, but you won't find parking anywhere nearby.

This small, historic hotel is right in the centre of Alba, 5 minutes to the main shopping area and town square in one direction, and the weekly open air market in the other, down a narrow street. The rooms are quite large and comfortable, at least two with a door outside. Everything is well presented, with interesting touches like a plate of chocolates in the reception area. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. They leave at 20:30 leaving guests with the key to the hotel and a phone number to contact them in an emergency. The breakfast in the cellar is excellent - a lot of meat, bread, cheese, etc and the possibility of ordering eggs, bacon and other hot items that arrive almost instantaneously. Fast free Wi-Fi. Highly recommended as a base to explore Alba for a few days..

Room Tip: Ground floor suite is large, comfortable, if a little dark.
