“A magic place and keeps getting better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

We have been regulars at La Favorita for 10 years. The hostess, Roberta, is wonderful and has the best recommendations of things to do and places to eat in the region. The house is full of art, books a piano, and bottles of wine. The garden includes a vineyard and gorgeous fruit trees. The breakfasts are superlative and varied. It's always magical there.

I have nothing to add to the previous reviews...Villa la Favorita is as good as everyone says. This was my 4th time in Alba and this was the best place I have stayed and I see no reason to go anywhere else. But my god...the breakfasts! We had freshly sliced Parma ham (Roberta is from Parma) every day along with special local treats like baked local cheese, frittata, apple cake not to mention the freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit with yogurt and pretty much anything else you can imagine. I honestly didn't want to eat that much since we were going to be eating well the rest of the day, but I couldn't help myself. If you stay here bring expandable pants, but you won't regret it.

Roberta and her crew have the knack of making you feel as if they are opening their home to you as family come for a visit. Careful thought has gone into designing areas inside and outside so that guests can either gather together, or find a quiet spot just for two. There is a large parking lot since a car is necessary if you are going to explore this wine region. Be sure to find time to walk in the hills around Villa La Favorita, the views are spectacular--vineyards everywhere of all the grapes typical of the region. Each day a hot breakfast is served, everything made from the land surrounding the Villa--apricots, hazelnuts, grape juice, marmalade....The sweets are baked in Villa's kitchen. The location is close to Alba--don't miss the town. Make Villa La Favorita your base in Alba.

What to say? We feel here like at home. Our host, Roberta, were very helpfull for every guest in da house. Location is nice, with large garden with a lot of fruit trees, free to taste.
Breakfast is home made, cakes, eggs, jams, juice of frest fruits....yumie...
We were on truffle hunting, very interesting experience.
When come next time, La villa Favorita is the only option :-)
Even everything was perfect, there are a little space for improvement. Slippers and bathrobes would be a nice touch. The softer pillows as well.
Well, last but not least, do not forget to buy homemade jams (plums, apricot and orange) and lovely Robertas own Nebbiolo :-)
Cheers.

Room Tip: Rosata room is rather small, but cosy and with balcony.

We have been back home now for three months and when we talk about our vacation in Italy, we always talk about Villa La Favorita! Not only was Roberta the most wonderful host to everyone, she went out of her to make sure that I always had incredible gluten free food. If you are a Celiac...this is the place to go. Thank you Roberta for your hospitality and friendship, you made us feel we were visiting an old friend. Get the guest room ready, we will be back!!! Tell Sally we say hi!

As others have said, the breakfasts are superb, the accommodations beautiful, and Roberta is extremely helpful for English speaking guests. Follow her recommendations - especially for restaurants, and you won't be sorry. Her driving tours are great, too. She knows of what she speaks. Very convenient to Alba, perhaps a twenty minute walk. Even if Giovanna tells you the mosquitos are all gone, bring some bug juice in summer.

Room Tip: Not all windows have screens. Rooms away from the road are quieter at night.

For the second time we spend wonderful days at Villa La Favorita. Camera Rosata was perfect with a small balcony with a view up the hill so beautiful. Giovanna´s breakfast must be experienced. The jam, the ham, the cheese, the cake...all home made and not to forget, the nice little embroidered napkins.
Roberta is a perfect hostess with helpful knowledge of the area.
Go there and stay for at least three days and enjoy!!
