We booked 1 night at the Hotel Calissano and immediately booked a second after seeing the room and the cute town of Alba. Hotel is newer, modern and very clean. Beautiful tile bathrooms and hardwood floors in rooms. Located very close to the center of town, a short 5 minute walk. Parking is included in an underground garage. The WiFi was free and very reliable. Breakfast buffet was very good and fresh. The front desk staff were always helpful and friendly, and spoke excellent English. The rate was reasonable. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

Hotel Calissano is a modern, comfortable hotel in downtown Alba. It's about a 6 minute walk from the center of the old city which gives it the best of both locations -- close enough to everything that makes Alba so charming, but just far enough away so that it's easy to reach by car without having to navigate all the older, narrow streets. It's also within walking distance of the train station -- maybe a 10 minute walk

The hotel appears to be relatively new which means it has all the amenities: a small gym, excellent and free indoor parking in a below-grade garage reachable directly by the hotel's elevator, and an expansive lobby and breakfast area. There is also a lobby bar and a very nice restaurant that was only open for dinner, not for lunch. The breakfast service was fine -- good cappuccino, a generous buffet of meats and cheeses, cereal, breads and pastries, and in an appealing touch, half a wheel of Parmigiano-Reggiano that you'd chip off pieces as large and many as you like. What a treat!

The guest rooms were large, beautifully furnished, comfortable, and quiet. The style is opulent -- lots of reds and golds and lots and lots of marble. Not totally my taste but it was done in a very lovely way. The bathroom was excellent -- large, well lit, and with a magnifying mirror, big towels, slippers, nice soaps, and a rain shower that was fabulous. No tub in our bathroom but that probably varies so if it's important, one should inquire when you book. There is also international television and robust and free WiFi.

The hotel was spotless and staffed by extremely nice and helpful people. When we arrived we were too early for check-in but the hotel clerk, a lovely woman, recognized that we had just finished a journey of a trans-Atlantic flight, making our way through the Milan airport, and then a two-hour drive. Seeing how exhausted we were, she immediately arranged to have our room readied in 10 minutes. For us, this is the kind of service that really makes a difference when you're an international traveler.

Highly recommended and we hope to someday stay here again.

We decided to go as we love Truffles and Wild mushrooms. We booked at the Hotel /Calissano well in advance. We had a wonderful stay. Hotel is very nice, quiet, pleasant atmosphere and wonderful staff. Garage available. Service impeccable. Breakfast ample. There is also a Happy Hour.

Room Tip: just phone or email. They speak English

We booked the Hotel Calissano for a one-night stay over one of the Town's truffle weekends in October.

The hotel is well located (just a short walk to the centre of Alba) modern, exceptional clean, helpful multi-lingual staff.

Included in the rate was underground parking and a reliable WiFi access and an excellent buffet breakfast selection.

The rooms were spacious, well equipped and the beds large & comfortable - had one of the best night's sleep ever in a hotel.

The only let-down was the restaurant where we made a mistake and choose to have dinner. Whilst the staff were very good, the food & value for money was extremely poor and, considering this is Italy, the worst tiramisu I have ever eaten.

Alba has a very chic centre with an excellent array of shops & boutiques, the truffle festival certainly added to the buzz and atmosphere.

In summary, Hotel Calissano is an excellent hotel for a stay in Alba however, other than breakfast, choose to eat elsewhere.

Hotel Calissano exceeded by far my expectations. Hotel Calissano at Alba belongs to the capitals of Europe. Management is very attentive. I wish to thank Giulia at the reception and Cristiano at the concierge. MH Franco and Commis Giorgia are great and made me feel at home !

A negative note: Comune di Alba should take care of Via Pola and the railway out of service which are in a shameful condition and discredit a superb establishment such as Hotel Calissano. Even the side walk is missing !!!!!!!!!!!!

We have nothing to complain about. Ideally situated, short walk to the old town, ok breakfast (although we missed egg and bacon), nice rooms, free parking - all in all we were very satisfied.
Hotel Calissano really deserves its 4 stars!

Room Tip: New hotel, all rooms seemed to be OK.

Stayed here two nights in August. Great location two blocks from Piazza Savona with free underground secure parking. Newer hotel with modern well furnished rooms and bath. Sound proofed windows provide a quiet atmosphere. Good breakfast.
