“Truffle excursion made our trip”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

An unforgetable trip.

Went truffle hunting with Margherita, Marco, and his dog Bilba. Truely unforgettable. In just two hours, Bilba found 4 beautiful alba whites, and Marco and Margherita guided us through the whole hunting process, as well as answered everything we wanted to know about truffles. Of all of the amazing experiences we had in italy--thisone topped it all! Thanks albaway!

“Exquisite personal touch”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

If your looking for a tour of Alba, this is it. Margherita and her staff were exceptional. My boyfriend and I took a personalized one day tour with Margherita. She took us truffle hunting took us to a couple of wineries in the barolo region, took us to the market in Alba and for lunch at a 2 star michelin restaurant. What a fantastic time we had! We learned so much and had a fun time doing it. Margherita herself grew up in Alba and it showed. She seemed to know all the locals and all the best places to go to, the places where the locals go. She is very knowledgable about food and wine and the local traditions. It made for a great experience.
The one thing that made are experience so great is the passion Margherita has. You can tell she loves what she is doing. And her staff....All smiles.
Thanks for a great time in Alba.

“Albawine Segway tour - a fun way to visit the area”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

When our guide introduced herself as "Margherita like the pizza" we immediately felt at ease even though this was our first time on a Segway!
Margherita was very friendly, she took time to help us get to grips with the Segways, and we really enjoyed our tour through the Alba vineyards with a section offroad and winetasting in a beautiful winery before our ride home in the rain - thankfully raincoats were provided!
Would definitely recommend this tour if you are looking for a fun way to visit the area!

“Excellent wine tour”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

We were three friends on the AlbaWine tour. Two of us had tried the Segway before, but the third person (63) never and he was very scared of standing on the Segway. However, after 15 minutes of intensive training, he was proficient enough to go on this several kms tour through the city into the countryside on winding roads including unpaved steep roads in the vinyards and he enjoyed it. So did we.

We were taken to the Ceretto winery, which does have some very high quality wines, but being an experienced wine lover I had not set my expectation very high on the two included wines to taste. However, it was a pleasant surprise. We were allowed to select the two wines to taste and had a basic Barolo and the second best single vinyard Barolo wine (Bricco Rocche Brunate 2005). We bought a couple of the wines and some sweets.

Please, remember to carry a small backpack as the disadvantage of the Segway is the limited possiblity of carrying anything but a person. There is a small bag on it, which can carry the sweets, but not big enough for a wine bottle.

“Only way to go!”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

I was travelling without a car and this tour was just the thing to get me out into the countryside with its beautiful vistas. Margherita made sure that you felt confident at each stage and gave excellent training. It was so much fun and not that difficult, even for an oldie like me. I did the "Alba Hills" tour and we did a little tour of Alba beforehand, to get used to the Segway. On the way back, we picked some fresh cherries from the side of the road. I would highly reccommend the experience and the bonus was the views. As well as the vineyards, you can see hazlenuts growing up close. Margherita is also a guide and does other tours. Have a go!
