“Traditional Italian Beach Resort Hotel”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

We had visited Alassio 30 years ago and tried to find the same seafront hotel. At the end of the day, we could not find out which one it was! But Lido looked familiar. At least it was on the beach. Booked the room the previous day(99€ via booking.com), no problems. Driving time from Nice is less than two hours. We were very happy with our choice. The room we booked was with partial sea view, just opposite the church. The bells rang every 30 min but stopped for the night. The staff was friendly, most of them spoke English, Check-in took a few minutes, the valet parking we had booked for 20€ was worth it. Our room was nicely refurbished, the wooden floor had been left -a good idea. Decent Wi-Fi. We got a good dinner offer upon arrival, 19€ for a full 4 course menu instead of 30. Very good antipasti buffet followed by traditional Italian choices. Where else you can get this kind of quality at this price? It was still early in the season in May but even so..Breakfast was included in room price, excellent value as well. Lots of fruits of good quality -and peeled. The pedestrian shopping street was about 10 min away. According to the Telegraph's article in 2010, Alassio has one of the best town beaches in Italy. We agree with their assessment. We can certainly recommend Lido and will be back for our visit maybe next year.

Room Tip: Try to get a seafront room or a room with partial sea view. Price difference is not that big, unless...

We have stayed at several hotels in Alassio using the town as a "stop over" over the years, and Hotel Lido is our favorite to date. The hotel is set right on the sandy beach, and very close to the shopping area and the center of town. The hotel is an old art deco building that has been refurbished. The common areas are tastefully done. The rooms have high ceilings and ours had enough space for two comfortably. We only stayed only one night, and selected the basic room, with extra space, no view. Clean, very quiet, well maintained, firm bed. Price, off season, 85 euros including breakfast. Very good buffet with lots of choices including warm whole wheat croissants (my wife's favorite). A good choice to hang out in Alassio for a few nights.

All the reviews sum up what's special about this hotel..My wife and I spent 1 week at at Lido and all we talk about now is how soon can we return. Everything about the hotel is special. The staff is great, The breakfasts are wonderful and leave you wanting for nothing. We did not opt for full board so we can't advise about dinners. Paulo was very accomodating and gave us many tips for our daily excursions with our car. Much press is given to the Amalfi Coast but after navigating the S1 roadway along the sea I found this area to be superior. With the sea on one side and the maritime Alps on the other there is an outstanding vista at every turn. If you are planning a trip to this area do not pass up Hotel Lido.

Room Tip: Get a seaview rom.. Third floor is best.

Just returned from a weeks holiday staying at Hotel Lido in Alassio on bed and breakfast basis as we were also visiting friends. We have visited Alassio on many occasions staying with friends and also staying at other hotels but this is our favorite, the hotel is lovely and our room was very nice, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the beach very clean and well looked after. We will definitely return to Hotel Lido and recommend it to anyone who wants to stay at a good class hotel by the beach.

Room Tip: We didn't have a sea view but believe they are excellent. We were happy with our room on the sid...

Wonderful old style hotel right on the beach front. Had a lovely spacious room with balcony overlooking the sea and could go to sleep at night listening to the waves. Attentive staff and good breakfasts. Even though we were travelling as a couple I noticed it was great for families too. Gorgeous old town with good restuarants and the bells at midday are the sweetest sounds I've ever heard.

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview room.

Situated on the beach front in the centre of Alassio. The hotel matched up to all our expectations. We had a lovely water front room with a balcony overlooking the sea. The room was large and spacious and spotlessly clean. The only down side was the bathroom which did not have a shower screen which resulted in the floor being wet & slipperly after a shower.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast had a huge range to chose from. We only stayed as bed & breakfast so cannot comment on the hotel restauant.
Alassio is popular with Italians for their holidays so maybe a small amount of Italian would go a long way.
Included in the price is access to the hotel private beach area and sunbeds etc. This is kept spotless although we found that the sunbeds were very close together.
Would recommend.

Great hotel, right on the beach, parking available for extra charge, and good wifi. Staff are really helpful with restaurant recommendations. If we stayed again we'd ask for a beach front room as they looked magical (ours was a last minute booking so we had little choice).
