“Perfect base for touring Sicily”
Reviewed June 11, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We loved this elevated, bright, airy apartment with its balcony views and ready access to town and beyond – central train station is five mins walk. The neighbourhood is safe and exceptionally friendly - cafés, shops, restaurants, parking, etc can all be found right outside the front door. The two balconies offer excellent vantage points – bustling town on one side, rooftops, churches, and coast on the other – and gave us a great sense of the comings and goings of the place especially on market days and when court was in session.

An ideal spot for couples or a small group of friends – furnishings are simple and tasteful, the cool double room makes a lovely siesta space. The shower / bathroom is excellent and the kitchen clearly designed for use not ornament – the oven a helpful addition, also standard fridge with freezer compartment. It’s an easy drive from here to the coast so there are plenty of beaches within reach – we also made the most of ready access to historical sites including local churches, the Valley of the Temples, Scala dei Turchei, and the Archaeological Museum, as well as driving to Porto Empedocle, Eraclea Minoa, Mazára del Vallo, and Catania.

Pierantonio is an excellent host and, really, nothing was too much trouble for him - he responds very promptly to all queries and went out of his way to assist us.

“Cheerful and welcoming”
Reviewed May 20, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The owner, Pierantonio, was very friendly and helpful, collected us from the bus station on arrival, helped us up the 2/3 flights of stairs with our luggage, and brought up a few extra kitchen items on the Saturday night.
The apartment is simply but adequately furnished, rather like a seaside holiday cottage; it is centrally located, high above the main shopping street, with sweeping views of the coast from the terrace. The 2nd twin bedroom is small, just wide enough for 2 beds; the main bedroom is quite spacious with direct access to the terrace. Food shops and restaurants nearby, and bus stop to the Valley of Temples (buy tickets in the bar of the railway station).
The stairs all the way from street level, with a final narrow (short) spiral flight into the apartment, could be a problem for some, but we (in our 60s and 70s) managed.
We were comfortable and content.

“GREAT PLACE !”
Reviewed October 17, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had a really good time in Attico Atenea. We arrived at the night time and were warm welcome by Pierantonio.
The apartment is very airy, bright, tastefully furnished and decorated. It has 2 nice terraces with an amazing views of the old church, the sea, temples and Agrigento. It's located in the heart of the old city, closed to everything.
It's perfect place to stay when you are visiting Agrigento.

“Nice view and perfect location, but very hot”
Reviewed August 10, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We were met by a friendly host who took us from the car park to the apartment and helped us bringing the luggaage up the stairs. On the top, a fantastic view of Agrigent awaits you. The apartment is very nice with everything you need. The location in the center of the old town is perfect.
The only negative thing is that the panoramic view also gives a lot of sun during the day and without air condition it gets very warm inside. The fans helped, but is was still very warm in hte apartment.

“Bright, airy, on top of the world!”

Attico Atenea was just as advertised, clean spacious, bright, airy. Very comfortable beds, fabulous open shower, and big terraces. Fantastic views across Agrigento, including the Valley of Temples. We stayed with our 6 year old daughter, and we needed to keep a careful lookout because of the top floor windows and terraces. Also there is a narrow winding staircase to get up to the apartment which we wouldn't recommend for young children or people with mobility issues. Otherwise, a brilliant apartment. Pierantonio is also a delightful, charming, friendly host who makes you feel at home instantly. And helps with heavy suitcases! Many thanks.

“Fantastic position; bright roomy apartment”

We were met at the train station by our host's family members who walked us to the apartment, which is set back from the main street of the old part of the town. We really appreciated this warm welcome to Agrigento. The position and apartment are picturesque, and close to shops and restaurants. We were also able to walk or take a bus to the main sites. The apartment was very clean and attractively furnished, with fantastic views from the wrap around terrace to the sea and the Valley of the Temples. Narrow stairway is challenging at the top if you have heavy luggage to carry.
