We had some difficulty booking the room on their site, but eventually it we had success. We were celebrating our 40th anniversay and played this card a bit at check in. Stefania, the host on duty at the desk was a delight and upgraded us to a room looking out on the Temple of Concordia. On top of that, when we returned from dinner, there was a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us. The room was "okay"... okay size and okay bath, but the Pergo floor was a bit of a turn-off. But given the location (about 1 mile from the entrance to the Valley of the Temples, and as I mentioned above, the wonderful attention we got from the staff lead by Stefania, we found this night and this hotel to be most enjoyable! Also, the gardens are wonderful, and you can have your breakfast out on the covered veranda to enjoy them.

Room Tip: If you can get a south facing room, you should score a nice nighttime view of the temples.

Staff were friendly both at the checkin desk and in the breakfast rooms. The room was comfortable enough but sadly the hotel looks as though time stood still in the 90's.
Its in a very good location for visiting the Temple so deserves a 4 star rating

Perhaps we were unlucky but I find it hard to match the enthusiastic tone of many of the other reviews. On the plus side, the hotel is indeed well situated in beautiful gardens overlooking the temples - a fantastic site particularly at dusk when they are illuminated. Unfortunately, the rooms could not match up to the splendour of the view and the comfort of the public rooms. Ours was frankly awful. The bed was like a rock as were the two pillows, so sleep was hard to come by. In our room, the fridge didn't work. Requests to mend it and to provide a softer pillow were enthusiastically received - and then ignored. Our bathroom was weird. I guess it had been meant for a disabled person as the shower had a small seat in it and, instead of a glass surround, had only a curtain and a depression in the floor for the water to escape so the first time we used it we managed to flood the bathroom. Breakfasts were pretty ordinary as was the evening meal.

We were stranded, looking for just about anything and very luckily were able to book at the Cooleverde and could not have been more pleased. It is within walking distance of the Temple, the rooms are very clean and neat. The lobby and dining rooms are lovely and the gardens and terraces are splendid. The meal at the hotel was relaxing, good and pleasant and the staff, especially Lyra were just terrific. She is gracious, profressional, speaks beautiful English and was extremely helpful, extremely. We are happy to recommend it.

This was a very comfortable hotel in Agrigento. The location is very convenient to the Greek ruins, which can be seen from the hotel grounds. The staff was pleasant and the food was good. We would certainly stay at this hotel again.
