We had some difficulty booking the room on their site, but eventually it we had success. We were celebrating our 40th anniversay and played this card a bit at check in. Stefania, the host on duty at the desk was a delight and upgraded us to a room looking out on the Temple of Concordia. On top of that, when we returned from dinner, there was a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us. The room was "okay"... okay size and okay bath, but the Pergo floor was a bit of a turn-off. But given the location (about 1 mile from the entrance to the Valley of the Temples, and as I mentioned above, the wonderful attention we got from the staff lead by Stefania, we found this night and this hotel to be most enjoyable! Also, the gardens are wonderful, and you can have your breakfast out on the covered veranda to enjoy them.

Room Tip: If you can get a south facing room, you should score a nice nighttime view of the temples.

Staff were friendly both at the checkin desk and in the breakfast rooms. The room was comfortable enough but sadly the hotel looks as though time stood still in the 90's.
Its in a very good location for visiting the Temple so deserves a 4 star rating

Perhaps we were unlucky but I find it hard to match the enthusiastic tone of many of the other reviews. On the plus side, the hotel is indeed well situated in beautiful gardens overlooking the temples - a fantastic site particularly at dusk when they are illuminated. Unfortunately, the rooms could not match up to the splendour of the view and the comfort of the public rooms. Ours was frankly awful. The bed was like a rock as were the two pillows, so sleep was hard to come by. In our room, the fridge didn't work. Requests to mend it and to provide a softer pillow were enthusiastically received - and then ignored. Our bathroom was weird. I guess it had been meant for a disabled person as the shower had a small seat in it and, instead of a glass surround, had only a curtain and a depression in the floor for the water to escape so the first time we used it we managed to flood the bathroom. Breakfasts were pretty ordinary as was the evening meal.

We were stranded, looking for just about anything and very luckily were able to book at the Cooleverde and could not have been more pleased. It is within walking distance of the Temple, the rooms are very clean and neat. The lobby and dining rooms are lovely and the gardens and terraces are splendid. The meal at the hotel was relaxing, good and pleasant and the staff, especially Lyra were just terrific. She is gracious, profressional, speaks beautiful English and was extremely helpful, extremely. We are happy to recommend it.

This was a very comfortable hotel in Agrigento. The location is very convenient to the Greek ruins, which can be seen from the hotel grounds. The staff was pleasant and the food was good. We would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Other reviews have said what beautiful gardens the hotel has, and this cannot be overstressed. They must have cost a fortune to install (and run), but they give the place a wonderful, tranquil atmosphere.
Try for Room 402, the "Panoramic Room". It is right at the top and has a HUGE terrace overlooking the Temples etc. Only comment would be is that it is short on drawer space for your clothes, but there again, Agrigento is essentially an overnight stop in order to view the Temples, there is absolutely nothing in the town itself. The sheets & towels were changed daily, which is good.
The restaurant is fine, as is the food. There is also an outside restaurant which is even better, but could be used more. They are definitely missing a trick with the outside bar, where it was often difficult to find the barman, however, Reception were good at chasing someone up.
There is also a surprisingly good trattoria (Trattoria dei Templi) opposite the hotel access road.
Overall, probably the best place to stay given its combination of price, proximity to the Temples and lack of noise.

We had just left the busy city of Palermo and found serenity in the gardens of this hotel. You can see the temples from the gardens and we took a superior room, so we could see the temples lit up at night from our window. We ate in the restaurant there and had a great meal and great service. For lunch, you just walk down the driveway and cross the street to eat at the Trattoria of the Valley of the Temples...great roasted chickory. We just stayed one night, but we're glad we did.

Room Tip: Because you can see the temples from the gardens, at night, there is no need to book a superior room...
